Brit: 'Don't Smoke Weed'

Restored pop princess Britney Spears was booed by the crowd when she left the stage of her Vancouver concert after only three songs. Smoke was reportedly to blame, and Spears had her own message for the crowd, "Vancouver, don't smoke weed." Apparently, lip synching and dancing don't mix well with smoke!

Britney Spears tells crowd not to smoke weed in Vancouver

An announcement was made to the crowd, "The building is awfully smokey. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes -- this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared."

The GM Place audience was left in the dark for more than 30 minutes, before the 27-year-old returned to the stage.

After the show, a statement was posted on the singer's web site: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

On a personal note, why would she care about smoke in GM place when she’s a smoker herself? If she’s so concerned about her “voice”, why does she smoke at all?

Have you seen the dancers energy when dancing on stage? Have you seen Britneys energy when performing?

Now anyone try that in a smoke filled room, and tell me if you’re not clearly “out of breath”?

It’s cleary disrespectful.

According to a background dancer, Britney apparantly left the stage because she ripped her pantyhose, and was being a huge diva about changing them.

um, maybe Britney (and President Barack) should try to quit smoking themselves. But taking offense at smokers is a good first step…

THAT is a message MORE artists should be delivering to more people!

I have officially put Britney on the top of my respect list for this one.

“Don’t Smoke Weed”.. as a matter of fact why smoke AT ALL? A deadly, bothersome habit/addiction. Being “addicted” to ANYTHING is unhealthy.

Wow, I TOTALLY respect that
