Billy Ray: 'Nothing Funny' About Foxx's Miley Rant

Billy Ray Cyrus stands up for miley cyrus after jamie foxx rant

Billy Ray Cyrus is standing up for his daughter! The singer/actor says Jamie Foxx's rant about Miley went too far.

On Thursday's "Bonnie Hunt Show," Cyrus says, "It was hurtful. There wasn't nothing (sic) funny about it. And, quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic."

During an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Foxx publicly apologized for the derisive comments he made about Miley on his Sirius Satellite Radio show. "The Soloist" star explained to Leno, "Sometimes as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far." He continued, "Miley, I apologize, so I'll call you."

TO: ‘please’ - GREAT COMMENTS! You hit the nail on the head! He wanted to lay out Michael Richards??? I’m glad I hadn’t heard that one. Most of us know to this day, that although Richards was wrong, and waaayyy out of line, he was DEFINITELY provoked in a racial manner, which is also wrong(you’ll never hear the tape, but I know someone that was there),and answered in kind. He was NEVER, in his wonderful career,in ANY bit of racial controversy before OR after. Miley Cyrus, however, didn’t do a thing to provoke this loser to attack her on radio, and say such deplorable things. That’s beyond uncalled for. I wish I were Billy Ray right about now…

Okay so he messed up he apologized and i think that was big of him! He knows he messed up Can we move on now this is so dumb! everyone has done this at one point or another! and in a way you cant blame him i mean half of these young girls do it! so its hard no to expect it from another one! best she can do is prove everyone wrong which i have faith she will! What makes me mad is that all these young Hollywood girls have the dream that only most of us can sit at home and dream of ( me included) and then they go and do stupid things and mess it all up! why not give ordinary girls like myself who would do anything to have a profession there passionate about! sucks my parents weren’t famous! i could have walked right on and i least would have made a role model of myself! OKAY IM DONE VENTING!

First of all, she’s going to be 17 this yr, so I don’t know what math you’re using. That makes her boyfriend barely four yrs. older. She apparently does not live in the colorful hoochie lifestyle, so I’m sure the boyfriend was okayed by her dad, and the relationship has nothing PIMP about it. That’s their private business, anyway. I don’t know, however, how anyone could defend what foxx said, along w/ his homies in the background, but there’s absolutely no getting around the disrespect, inappropriateness, low-life stank comments - maybe he’s used to that kind of teen; who knows? I don’t. He should probably shut up til he’s (as a dad) out of the woods, so to speak.Remember how up in arms everyone was when Imus said ‘nappy-headed hos’? speaking of those innocent young lady athletes? Remember al sharptonsofun camping out at the station demanding reparation? Well, this is a young, impressionable girl who was verbally assaulted by a group of marginal ‘grown-ups’ under the lame, pathetic guise of ‘comedy’. So, is it freedom of speech? I guess so, cause I don’t see sharpie anywhere. If it is now, why wasn’t it then? Either it always is, or it’s not. People better make up their minds.

I doubt seriously that Miley is as innocent as she and Dad portray her but to have Jamie Foxx say the terrible things he did is disgraceful. I don’t care if you are a comedian some things you just don’t say because they aren’t funny. I don’t have much respect for Jamie anymore and I used to think he was a really nice guy!

I don’t recall Don Imus getting any “breaks”?

I don’t recall Michael Richards getting any “breaks”?

Jamie boasts of being the “black” Howard Stern radio show? I don’t recall Howard Stern getting any “breaks”?

Of course this is a publicity stunt, ..not the first for Foxx, and it certanly will not be his LAST.

But in all “fairness” the plug needs to be pulled on Jamie Foxx’ radio show, EXACTLY like that of Don Imus!!

And what else needs to happen?? Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson need to come out of their “racist slimey holes” and PARADE THIS LOSER ABOUT ALL OF MEDIA WITH NOTHING BUT APOLOGIES COMING OUTTA HIS MOUTH!!

Billy Ray is doing EXACTLY what I would have done as a father of a daugther.. rather she was 16 or 30 wouldn’t matter to me!! Wrong is wrong, no class is no class, and racist is racist NO MATTER WHAT COLOR YOU ARE!!!

Jamies excuse is “he’s a comedian”… I don’t even remember Michael Richards using THAT as an excuse- yet Jamie wanted to “lay him out” when Richards made his remarks!!?

The “racist” shoe is NOW on the OTHER FOOT?? Let’s all watch the Media types dance on eggshells around THIS story, and do their best to sweep it under the rug!! Double Standard- injustice, if this man doesn’t lose MORE than just “fans” over this.

Oh, to quote Louise Jefferson on an eppy of ‘The Jeffersons’: “Nig|ger, please!”

How about this guy Cyrus PIM|PING OUT his daughter. How about him *allowing* his then-15-year-old to have a (((20)))-year-old boyfriend?

Yeah, Foxx was just trying to get his name in the press because he has a new movie coming out and that’s lame to do, but give the guy a break.

I hope Jamie’s daughter doesn’t look like him, lest someone do a ‘comedy bit’ on her!

Shame on Jamie for picking on a kid. Good for her dad for sticking up for her. Jamie, you were being hateful and disrespectful. Jamie, you just showed that you have no class. The media is too “soft” on Jaime Foxx, he sh*ts and farts and p*sses just like all of us. What makes Jaime so special??????? Take the corncob outta your a** and place it in your f*ckin mouth, maybe that will shut you up. You worthles piece of dog sh*t. YA JUST DON’T PICK ON KIDS, GOT IT? I can think about 1000 things I can tell you Jaime. My comment is very mild, so complain all you want, I could get worse with my commnet, but that is enough said. I will leave it at that.

TO: JAIME FOXX
As a comedian you thought you can get away with your tirades of Miley..you comedians think you have every right to bash anyone just to get a laugh or two. Now that you are getting bad reactions AND realize that you have a daughter who CAN be the butt of jokes from other comedians..you start to apologize on air..guess what..THE HARM HAS BEEN DONE! Don’t you know the saying THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK? Miley acted more matured than you did..You just deserve what ever you are getting now..YOU SOW WHAT YOU REAP…
