Man Beats Shark?!

Is it true a diver wrestled a shark for two hours?!

This fishy tale is true! Diver Craig Clasen and a few friends went to the Gulf of Mexico to go spear fishing. (Who does that?!)

During the expedition, Clasen was attacked by an aggressive 12-foot tiger shark -- and made it out alive! He speared the shark in the gills and finished him off with a knife!

This is one episode that really jumps the shark!

What a bloody load of crap! So the man was there with a camera crew and yet NO ONE managed to get any video of the shark acting aggressive? Either you are pathetic at your job or you are full of crap.
However I vote a little of column a and a little of column b.
Yeah, you look really ‘remorseful’ holding up the jaws and tail with a big pathetic smile on your face you knob!
Why dont you put the man in a tank with a shark that is really hungry and desperate for food as see how he goes?
Rob Stewart is more man then you will ever be!!!

This is F’d. I was intrigued by a commercial that said “Man VS Shark” and the television reporters even called the shark a ‘maneater’. Lots of other animals kill humans when humans are in their territory!

Sharks are magnificent creatures that have been around a lot longer than humans. Sharks were around in prehistoric times! They rule the ocean and keep balance in the sea, and humans are killing them off for ridiculous reasons. Our ecosystem NEEDS sharks. Humans NEED sharks.

This video was insane. There were harpoons in the poor shark. This man should not be praised for his actions, he should be ashamed.

This is outragious! If you wanted to be left alone and not get attacked, then you should have gone to your local pool!
You killed an amazing animal that was in its natural habitat, you were the intruder! You will be judged . Your concious will haunt you!

IN A FULL REPORT, THE DIVER SAID THE SHARK WAS CIRLING THEM FOR SOME TIME. YOU CAN’T JUST MAKE ANY SUDDEN MOVES WHILE THEY CIRCLE OR IT MIGHT TRIGGER AN AGGRESIVE ATTACK.IT WASN’T UNTIL HE GOT CLOSER TO PREVENT AN ATTACK ON HIS FRIEND THAT HE USED DEADLY FORCE. oH, AND IF A SHARK IS HUNGRY AND READY TO EAT, IT WOULD NOT BE EASY TO FEND OFF A SHARK KNOWN TO ATTACK HUMANS. IT IS ALSO CALLED THE TRASH CAN OF THE SEA BC TIGERS EAT ANYTHING. IF YOU SAW THE VIDEO, YOU MAY NOT BE EXPERIENCING IT THE WAY THE DIVERS DID AND MAY NOT HAVE SEEN ALL WHAT HAPPENED.

The news reported that in an interview the diver was not proud of this feat. He was very sad to kill such an amazing creature and has respect for the ocean that provides his living (although he was glad to be alive after getting sized up by a monster shark!!!). Someone like him can dive 200-300 feet or more with aid, and hold his breath for a couple of minutes. Watch “The Big Blue” if you can’t believe it.

It’s obvious that the man killed the shark for sport. I think it’s disgusting that a person could kill an innocent animal then get prased for it. If he was attacked, then way did the camera guy do nothing about it for two hours. and then there was a picture of the shark dead on his boat, to me it look like he was showing off. I think it is the responsibility of every human being to make sure that when someone dose inhuman things they are puniesd.

How did he hold his breath for two hours?

I think is actually very disturbing. I watched this video and at no point did I see this diver get attacked by the shark but all these images and video have been posted. I truely hope marine wildlife protection services look deep into this. I have no affiliation with any groups either I just think this is disturbing to me if you are in the sharks environment to kill it there better be good reason. What a a**

You had a story on earlier that showed a man fighting with a large shark. You also showed that he killed the shark. My mother and I were watching and saw the two heavy lines coming out of the shark’s back (along with the harpoon in his gills) and think that you have wrongly reported on it. It seems a little unfair and inhumane. Sharks are easily fended off and do not have to be killed to do so… and why did it attack, what are those two heavy lines coming from its back?
The man is no hero. I’d look more into these stories before reporting them.
