Hi All:
My name is Rick Carroll, Dr. Nagourney’s patient you saw in the piece on Dr. Nagourney and ‘Rational Therapeutics’. I am so pleased to see these posts and simply wanted to encourage families to contact RATIONAL THERAPEUTICS at www.rational-t.com . Fill out the information form on the site and one of thestaff will rapidly speak with you to answer your questions and to give you options. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer with tumors in my left lung, on my right adrenal gland and later a large tumor (size of 2 golf balls) parked on my pancreas. The former Marine in me said FIGHT LIKE HELL!!!, KILL THESE B_ _ _ _ _ _ S! But the medical “standard care manual” says in effect, too bad, too far gone, cat’s out of the bag, send him home to prepare for a nice funeral. Thanks to Dr. Nagourney, he directed me to the surgeons to remove 3 of the 4 tumors. IMPORTANT POINT!!! BEFORE SURGERY I had arranged for ‘Rational Therapeutics’ to get the infected tissues for analysis. So if you are far from LA, no problem. ‘Rational Therapeutics’ will send you a kit and packing material so that you can send the tissue from your location/hospital right from the operating room, out the door on to the next plane bound for Long Beach, CA for Lab analysis. Therefore, your doctor and you will receive specific, CUSTOM recommendations as to which chemo drugs will kill the tumor(s). There is hope! I am proof of it, now 4 years alive and well! So smile; get up; get on the web at www.rational-t.com or call (800)542-HELP (4357). “The Marines have landed”… HELP IS ON THE WAY!!! :)

When chemo drugs are chosen by doctors, it is often a guessing game. Since a human body can only handle so many courses of chemotherapy, it’s essential that the drugs used are the right ones.
I’ve had cancer twice. I had an EVA assay done in 2001 by Dr. Nagourney and was treated with drugs that worked quickly and perfectly.
In 2003 I had a new cancer that required a bone marrow transplant. I found a great transplant doctor who agreed to use the EVA assay recommendations.
I am happy and healthy today … yay!
You don’t have to live in Long Beach, CA to get an EVA assay. Contact Rational Therapeutics at web site www.rationaltherapeutics.com or phone (562) 989-6455.

Rick Carroll who was featured in the video is my twin brother. When he was diagnosed with stage IV non small cell lung w/ mets to the adrenal gland and given 6 monthes or less to live, his wonderful network of friends kicked in to high gear and found Dr Nagourney for us after a similar sucess story of a person with pancreatic cancer.
Rick recieved two rounds of Platinum based chemo at the VA and was told after no change to go home and palliative care would be calling. A death sentence.
We were on pins and needles waiting to see if Dr Nagorney could help us. That was 4 years ago. As far as I am concerned all cancers that can undergo a biopsy should be dealt with by targeted therapy. It should be the standard, not the exception.
I know in my heart that without Dr Nagourney and my brother’s resolve to fight, he would not be here today cancer free.

I’m a 52 year old female who was diagnosed 6 months ago with stage IV lung cancer that had metastasized to my brain. I have never smoked, was healthy and had no symptoms. I had a seizure that landed me in the emergency room of Long Beach Memorial Hospital. The doctors who saw me advised me to “put my affairs in order” and immediately undergo a standard protocol treatment of chemo therapy and radiation – which at best had a 30% chance of success. In a daze, the only thing I knew for sure was that I should somehow get a second opinion. A friend had heard of Dr. Nagourney’s work and urged me to see him. Two weeks later I was undergoing a surgical biopsy so that he could test my tumor for the most effective drugs. Two weeks after that, Dr. Nagourney informed me that I was a perfect candidate for the daily pill Tarceva which I have been taking ever since. A PET scan last month showed almost no signs of tumors, and to this day I have had no ill effects from my cancer. I expect to return to work shortly and am planning a snorkeling trip to Hawaii this summer. These are the kind of “affairs” I prefer to put in order. If you or someone you know has cancer, you MUST have the tumor tested – you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I urge you to contact Rational Therapeutics at www.rationaltherapeutics.com

my husband had sinus nasal undifferentiated carcinoma 6+ years ago. he underwent intense chemo and radiation. all was fine until this past year. this same cancer (which was in the sphenoid cavity) has now metastasized to the liver. he has had infusion of cisplatin, urbatux, and leaves wearing a fanny pak 24/5 of 5fu. then, they attempted to remove 3/4 of liverous tumor and found the “healthy” part had 4 small tumors. so did not section and instead installed a pump to direct chemo at liver. found out in january that it did not work. began infusion the next day and removed the internal pump a week later by surgery. 2+ weeks later he had intense chemo again. very debilitative, yet still battling. postponed the next chemo to an extra week later. do you have any suggestions, help for us? he is 53 years.

Hello

My mom was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer. They told her that she could not have surgery nor radiation. She has had 4 chemo treatments but there has been no change. She is now starting a chemo pill called tarceva which she needs to take every day. I would love for her to see you. I will go to the website but in the meantime any info will help. Does Insurance cover the cost of seeing the Dr. I am sure that airfare and stay would have to be paid by us but if insurance can help out with the medical part of it.

I flew to Long Beach, CA two years ago to see Dr. Nagourney when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The biopsy was done and Dr. Nagourney gave me and my doctor the list of chemos that would work on my cancer. It was such a relief to know, as I was taking chemo (which is no picnic), that it was absolutely working. I had an excellent response to the chemo, and I’m doing quite well. I’m so grateful that I made the decision to see Dr. Nagourney. I didn’t have to wonder if the chemo was working. I KNEW it was working. That was so important to me.

Thank you to all who have posted comments. Since this message board does not allow us to respond to each inquiry, I am writing to acknowledge that I have seen your comments. I encourage everyone who has or knows someone who has cancer, even those with advanced disease, to go to our website rational-t.com (or use the link on the extratv.com website) and complete the patient data form. From there we can respond to each query.

I would like to emphasize that our personalized treatment approach is based upon actual tumor analysis using living cancer cells removed from each patient. Therefore, fresh tumor specimens are required. This can generally be accomplished at the time of diagnosis or recurrence by the performance of a biopsy.

Again, I encourage you to fill out the patient data form and we will respond to your individual situation.

To John Riccioli,

I am praying for your friend to get well and overcome the cancer. I highly recommend 2 alternative therapy treatments in conjunction with modern treatments: 1) Healing Hands/Touch 2) Acupressure/Acupuncture (there are different techniques that do not use needles)

I’m pretty sure New York has these services readily available. Like any medical practice, you have to do some research and shop around for the doctor that you do like.

My friend has an aggressive form of cancer called sarcomo (not sure of spelling). The fact remains that she is unable to take any more chemo treatments that have been for the past year and she wasting away at this point. They have informed her that her tumor located in her abdomen has not increased in size since the last visit. She constantly fills up with water in the same region and has to undergo a procedure every two weeks in order to find relief from pain. The last procedure was very painful for her. She also continues to lose weight with little appetite to boot. Can someone please reply and advise me if there is any hope for her situation and what can be done before it is too late. She resides in New York City and due to the segment I viewed all indications point to cell biopsy before any diagnosis can be give. How can this be accomplished with 3,000 mile of separation. Please advise soonest. “Thank You” Ever Hopeful!

John Riccioli

My sister has was diagnosed with small cell cancer of the lung January 2009 which has spread to her brain. The recommendations were to undergo 3 weeks of radiation and then chemo. My sister completed her first chemo treatment and did not respond well she was admitted back into the hospital 7 days later for the following: her white blood count had decreased, 100 degree temperature, and she has loss muscle strength in both of her legs which has left her confined to a bed or recliner.

My sister lives in Fall River, Massachusetts she is age 49 has 6 beautiful children range age 30 to 5 years of age. Due to her medical condition she is unable to work and is currently receiving mass health insurance. Please let me know if my sister could qualify for treatment through Rational Therapeutics and if she is eligible for financial assistance through the Vanguard Cancer Foundation.
