First Lady Welcomes Spring with a Garden!

Who knew Michelle Obama had a green thumb? The First Lady traded in her signature glam clothes for gloves and a rake as as she was helped by students from Washington's Bancroft Elementary School to prep for the White House's new organic garden!

So do I!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait til everyone finds out in a few yrs, all the good that they did for our country. It takes a strong person to go against ‘popular’ opinion, knowing that it has nothing to do with making the right decision.

George Bush Sr. 4yrs, George Bush Jr. 8 yrs. That’s a total of 12 years that the Bush Presidents could have done something.

Clinton was 8 yrs, Bush total 12yrs presidency

I know the knee-jerk (emphasis on the ‘jerk’) reaction is to blame Pres. Bush for everything, but one must be thorough and honest enough to go back to the real and true source of fiscal disaster - it begins and ends with clinton. Look it up; find an OBJECTIVE source, and you’ll see. So ‘fans’ (that’s what you call celeb followers, right?) of bo have to send the blame a bit further into the past.

We frail humans are at one time capable of the greatest good and, at the same time, capable of the greatest evil. Change will only come about when each of us takes up the daily struggle ourselves to be more forgiving, compassionate, loving, and above all joyful in the knowledge that, by some miracle of grace, we can change as those around us can change too

“Nobody’s being forced into these assistance programs,” said Craig Blair, a Republican in the West Viginia Legislature who has created a Web site - notwithmytaxdollars.com - that bears a bobble-headed likeness of himself advocating this position. “If so many jobs require random drug tests these days, why not these benefits?”

thanks nellie,

but first consider the source? USA Today is liberal, and strongly a democratic supporter! And notice they completely left out any and ALL details of the plans out-lined by Mr. Obama!!? No facts OR figures regarding his OWN extreme debt that he wants to ADD to the already rediculous deficit!!

facts are disputable, especially when you get a bias report from the likes of USA Today. If you’re attempting to blame Bush for this, please bare in mind whom was in control in the congress during his presidency? This report you posted pointed NO FINGERS directly at Bush, but rather what “Obama has been handed” No matter how you slice it, dice it, attempt to blame the previous president,.. it’ll end up the same- all politicians put us into this mess, not any one single person, Or representive group!!

I am NOT defending Bush,.. I never cared for him, but this obviously in-experienced President we have now isn’t gonna make things all better either. He’s only adding to the problems in Washington if you want my blunt opinion.

- thank you nellie

By Richard Wolf and David Jackson, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — The first official reckoning of the recession’s impact on federal finances Wednesday was grim, and it’s likely to get worse.
The federal budget deficit will soar at least to a record $1.2 trillion this year, the Congressional Budget Office said — even without the full costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and up to $800 billion in tax cuts and new spending sought by Democrats to jolt the economy.

President-elect Barack Obama warned that without action, “we will continue to see red ink as far as the eye can see.” He will make his case today for the massive new spending plan.

The report from Congress’ official scorekeeper painted a bleak picture: a 2.2% contraction in the economy and a 1% dip in consumption this year, a jump in the jobless rate to 9.2% by 2010, and an additional 14% drop in home prices over two years. The unemployment rate would be the worst since 1982-83, when it peaked at 10.8%.

“This is one of the worst budget forecasts I have seen in my lifetime,” said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad, D-N.D. Obama “is being handed an absolute fiscal disaster.”

After the stimulus was signed, we heard all kinds of speeches regarding “more transparency” regarding these finances,.. not only from dear President, but his (tax evading) Secretary of the Treasury also (Geitner)!!

Then there’s the little matter of that BANK IN CHICAGO and their Mega-Million dollar party in Las Vegas- that included performances from people like Sheryl Crow, and the group Chicago? And more recognizable, the A.I.G. Bonuses totaling what 215 Billion?

Guess accounting for all the taxpayers money in keeping things “transparent” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Kinda like when Obama said in his address a month ago..”no more earmarks”.. yet sent through a bill packed FULL of those…

Stand-by americans there are MUCH more lies to come from this President. Much more..

For the commentor below?

LMAO.. I’m dying to know exactly WHERE you have come up with ANY FACTOID to back up this rediculous LIE you just posted regarding a deficit?

How ignorant do you think people are when you have seen a STIMULUS bill SIGNED by Mr. Obama for nearly 800 BILLION dollars?? THAT applies to the DEFICIT.. Not to mention the blank check he’s is currently attempting to write for more than a TRILLION dollars MORE DEBT to American Taxpayers???

All my mention FACTS are extremely visible in the EVERYDAY news of TODAY?

Where exactly are YOUR facts?

Hey - the victim thing is over, Bush left Obama with a 1.2 trilion deficit.

I don’t see how Obama or anything other president to come in the future and bring down that 1.2 trillion deficit.

Do you know how they will bring in under control?

TO: for ms. dalia (3/23 @ 4:27) YOU SAID IT!!!Those who voted for him obviously did so BECAUSE of his heritage, so THEY are the racists. It certainly wasn’t because of experience, which in my book, black, white, asian, hispanic, or whatever else one running might be,(bless them all!) is the ONLY reason to vote for someone. You know what makes history? A president who, AFTER A REASONABLE TIME (how else could we POSSIBLY know if someone is ‘the best’, or at least, ‘adequate’ at ANYTHING?!?!), we look back on and see that we were kept safe, whole, protected, or prosperous during his term(s). If only he were grilled, and that grilling were taken seriously, the way Palin, and even McCain (who was the one ACTUALLY running for pres - no one even looked crooked at biden, BTW), were grilled, we wouldn’t be so livid, or leery. Anyway, let’s see, just like we would w/ any other pres, what this guy’s going to do - I mean, BESIDES go on Leno(OMG!),hang w/ celebs, talk about pooches, make book deals, and get away w/ comments that NO REPUBLICAN would ever live down.

Yeah, when i hear that commentors post that Obama is black and his mother is white. the whole world knows that.

someone in this forum is guilty as hell for being a racist and spewing bigotry.

Same person that goes to all the forums and says the same thing over and over and over. JUST SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE.

In your defense, I know what you are going to say, you are going to say that I am racist. I am not a bigot or a racist. IT’S THE SAME BULLSH*T.

AND SO WHAT IF HE IS BIRACIAL, I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT.

I have black friends that I adore, they are so generous, so loving and I have never heard them say not not one thing about any president or anyone who was running for president. I admire them for being such loving, kind, warm hearted people.

Yeah, RIGHT, Dalia - cause clinton didn’t do AANNYYTTHHIINNGG to put us in the shape we’re in now - do some real research, and you’ll see that the ‘racist, brainless, heartless, pigheaded, dodo head’(your words) mindset, is JUST as prevalent in democrats, if not more, because they pretend to be liberal, yet berate, and de-humanize all that they don’t agree w/. clinton rode the coattails of one pres. Bush, and left a HUGE mess for the other pres.Bush. At least, our last president kept us safe for 8 yrs - let’s see what happens NOW…

- hold the applause for now

Sounds to me you’re the only trash dragging out the RACE CARD!!! Not a SOLE said a WORD about RACE WHAT-SO-EVER! Only YOU have? Seems that would make others wonder if you’re not the TRUE racist posting a comment??

Besides.. are these “opinions” racist in regards to his WHITE MOTHER, or his BLACK FATHER?? Which is it, because according to your “hate-filled” messages it’s only racism when the “black person is the victim”?? Much like you sound.. a consumate VICTIM!! You need to get over yourself. WE are ALL entitled to our Opinion regarding this completely IN-EXPERIENCED PRESIDENT you have decided to VOTE IN PURELY because of “race”!!? You’ve made history, now we’ll ALL have to “deal with it”!?

In regards to her garden “reap what you sow”… take that for what it’s worth!!

And where is EXTRA in the UN-BIAS reporting efforts??? We all heard about Ms. Palin even on issues of a split up between her daughter and the babies father?? Yet ON LENO MR. “CLASSY” PRESIDENT SAYS HE ‘BOWLS LIKE HE SHOULD BE IN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS”… Offensive, ..YES!! But because it’s not possible to put THIS story in a Pretty Little Package for the Obama Lamas, it’ll get swept under the rug.. and HUSHED immediately!!!

You can always count on EXTRA to paint the prettiest picture possible of this Untrustworthy “President”!!!!

Quick Question Ms. DALIA????

How is it that nearly 800,000 black americans couldn’t get out of New Orleans with at least FOUR DAYS warning of an approaching Hurricane…. and yet nearly ONE MILLION black americans were able to make it to Washington D.C. for the Presidential Innauguration??? I think it fits rather conveniently with your remark of calling President Bush a racist!

I trully feel sorry for all of those people who didn’t want President Barack Obama to win the Precidency. I don’t know how people can throw dirt at President Barack Obama when he is trying to get us, dig us out of this Great Depression, Recession. Oh, and we can all thank that racist republican, brainless, heartless, pigheaded, dodo head, etc for this outcome. Here’s a Humane, Intelligent man who wants to help this world come out of this… ALL OF YOU GEORGE W. BUSH SUPPORTERS SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES… SUPPORTING HIM WHILE HE BROUGHT ALL THE WORLD DOWN THE TOILET, FATHER AND SON DID ALL OF THIS. And i’m glad that THE FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA is going to start an organic garden, we should all fall in her footsteps. I AM A HUGE SUPPORTER OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA AND FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA, I VOTED FOR HIM AND AM PROUD OF BEING A DEMOCRAT.
