Just a comment Dr. Gabe…

I grew up with 5 brother and we all watched my father beat my mother, almost daily; 4 out of 5 of my brothers have hit a girlfriend before.

Hello Sir,

Is it true that genes affect the behavior in children. For intance, if a childs mother is extremly intelligent and sucessful in life, but the father is not bright and has a learning disibility, will the child become more like her father?

Question:

Do you lead your mind or do you allow your mind to lead you?

Dr. Gabe,

This is not a Chria/Rhianna question!

Do you think that a mind could experience a spiritual battle or is everything psychological?

Dr. Gabe

I think that Chris and Rhianna are both young and will lean from this.

Do you think both are at fault? Is this a misdomenor or a felony? Is jail time warrented?

Is the Hip Hop culture/music influencing young black men to beome more violent?

All of this violence amongst our children has to do with where they grow up. Dr. Gabe are you open to coming to other schools like mine! :-). Our kids sure could use you. You seem to have a way about you.

Okay Look,
Why do people feel shocked and surprised about Domestic Violence?! I understand that Chris Brown and Rhianna are celebrities, but we have regular/average people who deal with this on an everyday basis. People are putting too much of their focus on Chris Brown’s case when this is something that has been going on for a long time. It is ironic that people have a lot to say about this incident, because if it was just a normal (non-celebrity) person they would have nothing to say.

Now the only good thing I’ve seen is this guy going to deal with our youth. Uhm, it’s called stop it before it starts—

I agree with you, why is he going to jail and not her if in fact Rhianna hit him first or hit Chris Brown, period? Is it because it’s a woman hitting a man.

Hey doctor, I wanted to address Rodney Nichols, Dude I do believe from a psychological perspective if we take into consideration Chris and Rhianna’s ages, psychiatrists believe they are going through tremendous changes in the brain development. I think they should be given a full opportunity for counseling and for chris a full psychological evaluation!

Thank you

It makes no difference, from celebrity to regular individual—keep your hands to yourself!! You heard the kids say that they’re not even thinking “celebrity” anymore with Chris Brown or Rhianna—-Good for them. God Bless that young man whose their teacher.
He’s not a doctor, doctor is he? His attire doesn’t suggest it. But, his message was good and anybody brave enough to work with our teens gets my vote—hands down!!

Well, doctor can you please explain to me
Why is it a problem when men hit women, but when a woman hits a man they down-play the situation?

- Melinda

Could it be that because she is violent she is attracted to violent men? Maybe she likes the violence because she grew up with it. Or is it that she thinks like a normal female that has been beaten—that it’s Love?

Hey Rodney Nichols,

The day that CB chose to brutalize Rihanna is the day he destroy his own life.

Quit making excuses for a woman beater, that will never help CB.

CB has to be held accountable for his actions. With violent actions, CB needs to recognize his faults and where he went wrong so he won’t repeat his violent behviour again.

The day CB chse to put his hands on Rihanna is the day he ruined his own life. Quit making lame excuses for him.

I think some people are used to that type of environment where they need to have drama in their lives. Some women actually provoke their significant others to hit them! When you hit your fist against your hand, Dr. Gabe, I was like whoop, there it is!! But, for some women , they really just don;’t know how to function when the environment isn’t hostile because in their family life was the same way, growing up. Now what is the correct clinical term for that madness, DR> GABE?? (with ur Phine self!)

whatever she did to him does not matter he hit her pretty hard and should not have done that under no circumstances

I WAS TAUGHT THAT NO MATTER WHAT THE GENDER IS, YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON SOMEONE, EXPECT TO GET HIT BACK. FROM WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, RHIANNA IS USED TO BECOMING VIOLENT W/MEN. IF SHE PHYSICALLY PUT HER HANDS ON CHRIS 1ST, IT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE FOR HER TO GET BEAT UP SINCE SHE IS A WOMAN, AND HE IS A MAN!! I KNOW YOU MIGHT NOT AGREE WITH THIS DR. GABE, BUT, IT’S THE HARD COLD TRUTH!!

But, dr. gabe, don’t all relationships go through tough times? I believe this is a self-esteem issue, you didn’t talk about that, but, that’s the biggest issue. You really should spend some time on that while you have that captive audience of teens, doctor! I also believe that if Chris Brown had received some sort of help (e.g., prayer and family verbalizing of his feelings) as a child, then all of these things could have been avoided!!

Dr. Gabe,

I think Chris Brown’s situation os another one of America’s plots to destroy another young Black man. I don’t condone a man hittin, but he has every right to defend himself!

dR.gABE

I wanted to comment on another celebrity…Michael Phelps. I too am shocked that they have a pic of him and now want to discredit his image. I understand that his accomplishments may have children looking up to him but that doesnt mean he asked to nominated as the Role Model for them. I bet he wish it never surfaced, but its done.He still got thru the olympics w/o drugs(tested). I always have many questions when in class that I dont get to ask or comments& now when Im on this site,I can’t think of much. You have a blessed day. —
