Dakota Fanning to Bare Fangs in 'New Moon'

Young starlet Dakota Fanning has confirmed longtime rumors that she'll star as tiny vampire Jane in the hotly anticipated "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon."

The 15-year-old actress' role as the deadly bloodsucker has been confirmed to People magazine by a rep from Summit Entertainment. Filming for "New Moon" begins in Vancouver later this month -- and the cast is already gushing over the script!

"We did just get a script -- we're shooting the rest of the films back to back," Nikki Reed -- who plays Rosalie -- dished to the magazine. "Chris Weitz is amazing and I think it's going to be wonderful."

"New Moon" is set to rise in theatres late November.

I think it is wonderful she got the role of jane.I think she will do a good job bringing her to life.But the cast shouldent really be working back to back on the movies they should take a lil break so they wont have a break down doing all this work.

I read the books after seeing the Twilight movie, and because of the trailer for “Push” playing before Twilight, I’ve always associated Dakota Fanning with Jane, and commented to my family last fall that she would be awesome in the role. I can’t wait to see her make the angry Jane face at Bella, woot!

I honestly think that Dakota would make a great Jane!!! I think she fits perfectly for the role! She is a really talented actress!! at the moment, I’m just really jealous that she gets to meet Rob!!! It’s my dream to meet him! she is soooo lucky!!! She is going to do great!

Well if the writter of the book’s it’s alright with the cast, who are we to say different?. I mean in twilight Sthephenie Meyer was ok, with it, and she is still participant in new moon, maybe she sees something of the characters on the actor’s and actress that are on the movie, so why are people so mad about them? You all leave that baby alone. She can act circles around ALL of them…especially Kristen. I hate Kristen for Bella! I have seen better Bellas in the legions of fans of Twilight. You go Dakota…SHE IS FANTASTIC, TALENTED, VERSATILE, SPUNKY, INTELLIGENT and BEAUTIFUL. She can pull it off!

its not like jane plays a biig role in the movie…
i believe dakota is an amaaazing actress and that she will do her best, but i honestly think she’s a young one for jane’s role.
regardless, i wish all of them the very best and to take new moon seriously =)

This is sad. and why is the guy on this page judging Rob Pattinson? apparently he’s gay, anyways, Dakota Fanning is the wrong choice because this movie did no have anyone that had been is a million movies. Kristen Stewart is the most popular, but I hardly knew her. Seriously, this is ridiculous. I have lost respect for the entire team that casts these movies. I’m most likely not going to see this now.

This info is……..wow. Dakota Fanning? Really? I won’t judge the choice now, and I know that she’s a great sctress for her age. But Twilight is my favorite book series, and to see the part as Jane go to Dakota is a shock. She’s great……….but for Jane?

Dakota is a versatile actress and absorbs herself into whatever role she plays. You are judging Dakota prematurely, I am going to wait to see the movie, then I will judge her role then. I think she will do a very good job. Dakota is very dedicated to her work and gives it her all. She is not a slacker.
