'Bachelor's' Melissa to 'Dance with the Stars'?

0305melissa.jpg

Jason Mesnick dumped Melissa Rycroft after proposing to her on "The Bachelor" -- but will the former Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader rebound on the dance floor?

According to People magazine, that's true! The magazine reports that the 25-year-old sales rep -- who is considered a fan favorite from the hit reality show -- will compete in the place of television personality Nancy O'Dell, who had to withdraw from the competition due to a knee injury.

Hugh Hefner's former "Girl Next Door" Holly Madison is also rumored to be taking the spot of singer Jewel, who also had to step off of the dance floor due to an injury.

If the rumors are true, Melissa only has days to rehearse before shaking it on Monday's season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars." ABC declined to comment on the reports.

Check out the other side of "The Bachelor" controversy with "Extra's" interview with the happy couple, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney!

As Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss tells PEOPLE, “That’s patently untrue. It was [Jason’s] choice in New Zealand who he proposed to.” But after the show wrapped, Fleiss says, “HE WAS NOT IN LOVE WITH MELISSA ANYMORE and he was in love with Molly and he needed to make a change.”

Melissa “waltzed” her way into America’s hearts after being betrayed by bachelor Jason Mesnick on the most shocking and talked about season finale ever of ABC’s The Bachelor. With an outpouring of support and affection from viewers across America, a dignified Melissa has personified the courage to move on. Her journey continues as a participant on season eight of Dancing with the Stars, valiantly stepping in with less than a week to train when two celebrities were forced to withdraw due to injuries. She teams with Tony Dovolani, who returns for his seventh season

Melissa’s just milkin it! So tired of her already! They dated for a couple months- only a month exclusively-mainly by phone. And then it ended. Why is everyone surprized?! She went in a dating competition and ultimately lost- with 23 other girls. Let’s move on please!

Katie you are so right. It is time for everyone to back off and leave Jason and Molly alone and quit bashing them. They will be great together. Melissa definitely had other things going and Jason felt it after the final rose. Melissa did all this to her self. Everyone needs to quit babying her. GO JASON AND MOLLY.

I watched DWTS and Melissa was wonderful. Good riddance to that Bastard Jason and Molly with her pressed on eyelashes and nasty a** ho. Molly was so desparate to go back to Jason. Well, I guess that’s what she gets, who else would want her.

Good note tg - I totally agree !!! Melissa is no “star”…only in her own head….And I for one will not watch DWTS because of her…..She needs to go back to Texas and get a REAL life and job….She is ony provng how totally phoney she is and how much she only wants to be in the limelight….with her it is “all about me”….Think her parents will show to support her on DWTS??? I doubt it….that close, loving bunch ?!?!?!?!? Go home M !!!

I think Jason did the right thing getting rid of Melissa. She just likes being in the spotlight. I wish Jason & Molly all the best. I was a big fan of DWTS, but now that Melissa is on, I won’t be watching. I know she won’t last long on the show…she is not a star.

Its time for everybody to stop feeling sorry for her. I mean from what I hear, she has moved on.She told Ellen, she is with someone else, plus she is on some dating site. I mean how desperate is this girl?!?

DWTS made a big mistake this time….

Grow up Jason! First, you seduce Melissa into thinking that you are prepared to make a commitment. You ask her for a commitment and she makes one. At the same time, you seduce me and 15 million other viewers into thinking that you are genuine. You then betray Melissa, not by contacting Molly, but by nurturing thoughts of Molly all the while you allow Melissa’s love and commitment for you to grow. Then you get on national TV and feed your sic ego while the audience is subjected to watching the pain you inflicted on Melissa. By then, the viewers are starting to get it that your words and actions are not congruent; while your words sound sweet, your actions reek of deception. We watched your ego further bolstered by Molly’s denial and fantasy that you were simply “following your heart”. We also witnessed Harrison’s unspoken approval of this mockery of a so-called “search for love”.

For I and 15 million other views who wasted our time witnessing the lowest form of “reality” in action, watching you go from one talk show to another trying to convince us you found love while pawing all over Molly is disgusting!

As for Molly, how dare you get on talk shows and pretend you support Melissa. Are you so stupid to think that no one watched the clips of your sabotage of Melissa in the first place?

I agree with you, Jason. Molly is the right person for you. You are both phony. Now please go away so we do not have to turn the channel every hour to avoid posttraumatic stress from witnessing more of your VERY offensive behavior.

Love Melissa. I am sooooooo glad she will be on the show. She is very brave to go on the show with only a day or two to get ready. Go Melissa!

The show is called Dancing With The STARS. Melissa and Holly are not stars. They won’t be getting my vote.

I am excited about Holly being on the show. I think she will bring in more younger viewers as well. Not to happy about Melissa, she is not a celebrity. This show is for celebritys. They must just feel sorry for her.

I hope the rumor about Holly Madison replacing Jewel is false. Melissa is just continuing her 15 minutes, but Holly is just trash who should not even be allowed on this family friendly program.
