Vanessa Hudgens Set for 'New Moon'?

Is "High School Musical" starlet Vanessa Hudgens already signed on to star as Leah Clearwater in the "Twilight sequel," "New Moon?" At last night's Oscars, "Extra's" Mario Lopez cleared up the rumors when he caught up with Hudgens on the red carpet.

Hudgens declared, "It's still a rumor. I'm really interested, I think it's a great project but nothing's happening as of now." When asked if she's a fan of the movie, Hudgens responded, "Yes love it. My sister has read all of the books, too."

New Moon hits theaters on November 20, 2009.

Mario Lopez or anyone from extra, please let Chris(director) know that all of Twilight’s fans DO NOT want Vanessa H. in the movie. She cant act! seriously!

But I do like Fanning to be as Jane, I really think she’ll fix perfect!

Shes going to try and take all the focus off the true stars of edward and bella, i really dont want vanessa or dakota to be in the Twilight New Moon because she would make everything be about her and try to cheat all the other starts out of their money. She needs to stick to High School Musical

whatever. if they pick Vanessa for Leah Clearwater, then cool. People are reacting the same again, just like when they picked RPattz to be Edward “oh no, not him! blah blah blah”… and now practically everyone is inlove with Robert. I think Vanessa has the looks to play Leah and at least she has experience too, even if it’s HM shows. What’s gonna matter most is the overall look of the movie, not which actor play which… if people are gonna go with “looks” then, Taylor Lautner COULD NOT be Jacob… But he is, and he’s good at it. Leave it up to the pros to select the actors and then just watch the movie, then make your judgment. Geesh…

Why is she saying this? Leah isn’t in New Moon… maybe she means for Eclipse? That would be the ansolute worst thing Summit could do, hiring Vanessa Hudgens for a role. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.
