Reports: Rihanna Victim in Alleged Brown Attack

0209brown.jpg

"Extra" has uncovered more information about Chris Brown's arrest on battery charges yesterday.

The R&B singer posted $50K bail and was released from custody yesterday at approximately 6:30 PM -- after his SUV was chased through L.A. streets. Brown, who was booked on charges of making felony criminal threats, faces up to 9 years in prison.

New reports today confirm that Brown's superstar girlfriend, Rihanna, was the victim of the alleged attack -- and suffered bruises, scratches and even a bite mark (some reports have said she has a broken jaw), but her people are not commenting except to say "she is well."

This morning, Rihanna's father told Splash News that his daughter told him she was in a car wreck. "She told him the reason she was pulling out of the Grammys was because of a shoulder injury," Sam from Splash News dishes to "Extra."

On Friday, the couple looked cozy at Timbaland's Pre-Grammy party where Rihanna performed for the star-studded crowd. The singing duo also appeared at Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy party on Saturday.

Rihanna and Chris inexplicably left the bash at 12:20 AM in the middle of P. Diddy's performance -- and were snapped in Brown's rented Lamborghini, which "Extra" has learned rents for $2K a day. Ten minutes later, LAPD received a 911 call about a domestic violence incident in Hancock Park.

Both Rihanna and Brown canceled their Grammy performances on Sunday afternoon -- giving Justin Timberlake and Al Green the opportunity for an impromptu Grammy performance. News of the alleged incident stunned attendees, including actor Blair Underwood, who said, "That's unfortunate -- that's very unfortunate."

Now, "Extra" has uncovered evidence of abuse in Brown's past -- with his stepfather allegedly abusing his mother. "In the cover story for Giant magazine, Chris Brown talks about telling his mom that because his stepfather was so abusive to her that one day he would go to his stepfather's job and beat him with a baseball bat," Emil Wilbekin of Giant magazine dishes to "Extra."

The incident is under investigation, with Chris possibly facing additional charges. He is due in court March 5.

I think that we all make mistakes, everybody deserves a second chance, if they love each other and he gets the helps he needs and never does it again, that’s one thing, but if the abuse continues, it will never end until something life-threatening changes the both of them. I wish them both good luck, it is a hard situation, from both ends! Chris is still, at the end of the day, a great performer and we should not judge him, he will have to pay his dues through the courts and I,am sure he is already, in his heart and soul! Give them some peace, I would hate to be in thier spotlights! Rhianna be strong, keep your head up!

New details have emerged about the midnight altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna that led to Brown being booked on a felony criminal threat charge on Sunday.

“Chris knocked her around,” a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. “Black eye, blood, bruises. She had to be treated by a doctor.”

A police source confirms to PEOPLE that the singer suffered a black eye as well as “a swollen split lip and two red and purple contusions on either side of her forehead.”

The source, who described police photos of Rihanna, added, “She looked distraught and in a lot of pain. Her eyes were closed because she was looking down.”

The Barbados-bred beauty, 20 – who is currently in “a safe place,” says a friend – is cooperating with detectives, according to the Los Angeles Times. Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton has said he expects the case will be handed over to the district attorney’s office on Tuesday or Wednesday. At that time, the prosecutors could charge Brown, 19, with more crimes.

The case could be affected by how much Rihanna is willing to forgive her boyfriend. “Prosecutors back off somewhat when they see a couple trying to work out their own issues,” says Steve Sitkoff, an L.A. defense attorney. But, says the friend, “I would be so sad if she went back to him.”

In the meantime, both stars have canceled upcoming appearances: The NBA has issued a statement that Brown will no longer participate in their All-Star Game events in Phoenix this weekend, while Rihanna backed out of a Friday night concert in Malaysia.

Friends Call Brown a Good Kid
News of the alleged assault stunned fans and friends alike. Brown, known for his charm and Michael Jackson-style moves, has always been seen as a good kid. “I’ve never known Chris to be combative,” says his high school gym teacher from Tappahannock, Va., Lyn Amos. “He’s always low-key, easygoing.” Adds Jean Segar, a restaurant owner who has known Brown since he was a child: “He’s such a mild-mannered person. It’s hard for me to believe [the charge].”

What makes the allegations even more shocking is that Brown has claimed his mother was physically abused by his former stepfather. “He made me terrified all the time,” Brown told Giant, adding, “I hate him to this day.”

The abuse allegations could have a long-lasting impact on Brown’s career. On Monday, Wrigley temporarily suspended his Doublemint commercials, and as an industry source points out, “A lot of his fans are women.”

If chris didn’t do anything, why is his dad saying chris is remorseful?

Speaking out for the first time since his son’s arrest, Chris Brown’s biological father, Clinton Brown, tells PEOPLE his son is at home, reflective and filled with concern.

“He’s reflecting on this situation,” Brown, 44, a corrections officer, tells PEOPLE in an interview at his home outside Tappahannock, Va. “He’s very remorseful. He’s very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that [Rihanna’s] okay.

“This is unfortunate, this stumble, this situation,” Brown continues. “Hopefully, he will get past it. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip.”

And Brown – who flew to Los Angeles to attend the Grammys with his son but never made it to the show – says there are “two sides to every story.”

“If you are on his side, you are on his side,” he says. “Just because someone trips, if you are truly a fan, you are not going to demonize him instantaneously.”

The 19-year-old singer is under police investigation in Los Angeles for allegedly beating Rihanna, 20, early last Sunday morning.

How can you blame her for his career being in trouble. He is suposed to be a grown man. He mad the choice to abuse her so he should be a real man,get some help for his problem, and take responsibility for his own actions. That is what is wrong with our youth today they want someone else to take the responsibility for their actions.

I can not belive that we live in a world where people are so dumb to the abuse that goes on around us. Who is stupid enough to ask “what did she do to deserve it?” ! You are idiots! No person male or female no matter how mad someone makes you has the right to hit another human being. we treat our pets better than other people. You people are sick and so is Chris Brown!!!

Frist let me say that we are all people looking in from the outside. Im not saying that Chris wasnt wrong on his part. But dont forget that both person are young. Rihanna Did some childish things too, going through his phone ,having the pass code to his message. Come on!!!!! Im sure that not the frist time she seen a message from the woman. Instead of both walking away it got out of hand. While you all are mad at CB. lets see if she really mad. im sure all you has gotten in a fight rather a little one or big one with your lover. And got right back with them. So what the different. So keep your head up. You are human too Chris
