President Obama on Simpson's Weight-Gate!

0202obama.jpg

Even the most powerful man in America, Barack Obama, had something to say about Jessica Simpson's weight controversy!

Obama sat down with Matt Lauer on the "Today Show" for his first live sit-down as Commander-in-Chief -- and the conversation turned to Us Weekly, in which Jessica's weight story bumped Obama from the cover! "You got replaced by Jessica Simpson," said Lauer, holding up the magazine. Obama replied, "Yeah, who's in a weight battle, apparently."

Today, Simpson's camp had no comment on whether or not she saw the interview, and Matt came to the Obama's defense about his remarks! "He wasn't passing judgment... he was simply reading something off the cover of that magazine."

The President gave Lauer a White House, during which he revealed that becoming president hasn't interrupted his favorite pastime! Obama admitted that he is still "playin' horse on the basketball court."

Obama also took a jab at Governor Sarah Palin, who appeared at a super-secret political dinner in D.C. with Obama -- and the president poked fun at Palin's attendance! "He said he was surprised to see her palling around with this crew," dished Ken Vogel from Politico.com. "That, of course, a reference to her allegation that Barack Obama palled around with terrorists."

The First Family has received the star treatment in D.C. since Obama took office, including a photo shoot with famed shutterbug Annie Leibovitz! The photographer snapped pictures of the Obamas for the new Vanity Fair.

NEXT: Super Bowl Bashes!

Jessica Simpson IS fat. Don’t we want a president who tells the truth for a change? I heard the interview and this is bunk. He never said that.

Etta James to Beyoncé: Posted Feb 4th 2009

This is not a joke: 71-year-old Etta James actually threatened to beat the TAR out of Beyoncé Knowles — and it’s caught all on tape!

The war is all over Etta’s song, “At Last ” — Beyoncé sang the tune at Obama’s 1st Inauguration Ball on Jan. 20th … but last week at a concert in Seattle, James was still p*ssed.

While on stage, Etta told the crowd, “Your President, the one with the big ears … he had that woman singing my song. She gone get her a** whipped.”

She continued, “The great Beyoncé … I can’t stand Beyoncé,” according to audio from Crown City Media.

Ironically Etta didn’t kick up this sorta fuss when Beyoncé portrayed her in “Cadillac Records.”

Reps for Beyoncé had no comment

He made a joke. The joke was on US Weekly and the type of articles they run, not on Simpson. It could have been anyone on the cover. It means nothing, was not a slight against anyone,….. Get over it!

Way too much has been made both of Jessica’s photos (looks like strange-fitting jeans shot at an unflattering angle more than anything else) and Obama commenting that she’d replaced him on the cover. I’m not even a Jessica fan, OK? But, she looks good. Now. Before. And Obama wasn’t weighing in (so to speak) with an opinion. Don’t y’all have anything else to think about?

So what if you didn’t vote for him, it really doesn’t matter, facts are facts…the bottom line is, he was reading the cover of the magazine. Barbara Smith and Steve of Arizona you all are haters. Go sit down somewhere, call Michael Phelps and go smoke what he was smoking…maybe it will take the edge off!

President Obama is the most handsome man in the world. He is such a sweet guy, it’s almost unfair to average looking people. He is the best President the United States have ever had. I love him so much. All Americans are in love with him. I have never seen a President more loved by his people. What a phenomenal guy! God bless him and God bless The United States of America.

I am not for Obama however he just read what was on the cover of the entertainment magazine, he neither denied or confirmed the rumour. He said nothing about her weight. That was the right thing for him to do is to not comment on her weight. give credit where credit is due.

- giv e credit whre credit is due

what kind of legitamate journalist would even have an “entertainment magazine” in their hand to see the reaction of the leader of the free world? I am digusted with Matt Lauer, there are so many political newspapers and magazines, why didn’t he pull one of those out to show Obama? Katie Couric is just as bad, she needled Sarah Palin about magazines when Katie WAS PREPARED, Katie did her homework, I know she doesn’t know everything off hand. These sorry journalists are barracudas waiting for the next bite. What ever happened to professional journalism? Give us political news, not bullsh*t.

- matt lauer is bad and so is katie couric

It’s refreshing to see that the people are interested in politics again, but are we really so bankrupt of coherent thought that we need to ask the president about stupid celebrity gossip? I don’t think Obama was critical of her weight — I think he was trying to move onto a different topic ASAP. Shame on Lauer for even bringing it up in the first place.

This guy may be the worst president thinking on his feet since I’ve sen in my lifetime.

I instead of blowing off Rush Limbaugh he validates the guy. A simple, “I’m too busy right now to debate
talk show hosts.” would have demonstrated who the real boss is.

And with Simpson? Another dumb remark. How about,

“I’m pretty sure she’s not the last person that’s going to bump me from the cover of a magazine.”

RE: ‘I am not an Obama fan but I did see the interview and that’s exactly what …’
- Not an Obama fan, but the truth is the truth

You’re right. The problem is (and always will be)that these celebs think he’s THEIR personal ‘star project’. They pushed, intimidated, bullied, and terrorized any opposing views and/or people just to get him in - and IN is what they think he is. IN the loop of gossip, IN the limelight, IN the iconic fantasy world of fashion, soirees, and photo ops. It’s disrespectful to think of a president in that way; he’s not their ‘buddy’. Typical tacky behavior that we probably won’t see an end to anytime soon.

It’s over saturation of Obama, he’s all over the news, including entertainment news. I think people are getting tired of seeing him.

Bailed Out Bank of America Sponsors Super Bowl Fun Fest
Morgan Stanley Hosts Conference at 5-Star Resort in Palm Beach
February 2, 2009
Despite a near collapse that required $45 billion in federal taxpayer bailout funds, Bank of America sponsored a five day carnival-like affair just outside the Super Bowl stadium this past week as President Obama decried wasteful spending on Wall St.

Brian Ross investigates the bankers who sponsored Super Bowl festivities. The event – known as the NFL Experience – was 850,000 square feet of sports games and interactive entertainment attractions for football fans and was blanketed in Bank of America logos and marketing calls to sign up for football-themed banking products.

The bank staunchly defended its sponsorship, saying it was a “business proposition” and part of its “growth strategy.”

Critics blasted the spending as a serious abuse of taxpayer money.
