Michael Saying Sorry for the Cash?

Swimming sensation Michael Phelps has again apologized to fans for what he called "regrettable behavior" after he was photographed with a marijuana pipe. Was his apology based on a car endorsement?

Phelps recently signed a deal with Mazda to endorse them in China, for which the automaker is reportedly paying the 23-year-old more than $1 million.

Mazda issued a statement saying they will continue to use Phelps. "His expression of remorse and his determination to make amends, and especially his video apology and expression of thanks to the Chinese people, give us confidence that Phelps can make a healthy return to the pool and have even more brilliant achievements," the company said.

Phelps first issued a public apology to his fans at the beginning of this month.

DON’T APOLOGTIZE - IT ONLY FEEDS THE WAR ON DRUGS, WHICH SHOULD BE STOPPED NOW - NO MORE EXCUSES, JUST MAKE IT LEGAL ALEADY!@

For “anonymous” the most RECENT one?

Heck NO not EVERYONE has tried or has done pot in their lives!!! Stop assuming such things, some of us actually find LOGICAL SENSE in NOT doing DRUGS!!

And Robert… have you done so much weed that you are now so suspended in the “high” world to not realize it’s actually ILLEGAL?? And to compare it to alcohol and cigarettes (which are legal) is a wonderful example. But rather NOT a genius EXCUSE?? Like alcohol pot can indeed mess with your senses (like you had any to do pot in the first place).. it affects your judgment, your reflexes, your natural sense we commonly call “common sense”?? It’s like being drunk- and guess what- YOU COULD KILL SOMEONE!! And like CIGARETTES it is a SMOKE!! There is NO ONE in the WORLD that can ever convince me that smoking ANYTHING is actually “GOOD FOR YOU”??? But hey it’s YOUR body do what you want to it.

And WHY in the world would we want to legalize WEED??? All these efforts being put forth to stamp out smoking altogether, and you want to legalize yet ANOTHER addiction??

Our insurance funds are a MESS in LARGE PART- no thanks to SMOKING and the ADDICTIVE NATURE of the DISEASE!!!

Facts are simple facts.. you smoke POT to GET HIGH!!! To somehow “escape reality”.. to “relax”…. NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS!!! Newsflash- when you come back from you “trip” your problems are still gonna be there, and likely AMPLIFIED!! It’s a selfish behavior, because you’re not only hurting yourself but THOSE around you INCLUDING FAMILY!! If you cannot respect your OWN body, how could you expect those around you to? But hey… it’s your body, your choice!! So long as my taxpayer money isn’t supporting you on a lung machine, I’m ok with that!

Like smoking cigarettes,.. pot is a waste of time, waste of money, waste of energy, waste of healthy lung tissue, and a waste of brain cells. Why else would “pot heads” call it …”GETTING WASTED”?

At the very least.. Michael Phelps is a major disappointment.

I don’t think it is a good influence on our children. Now with that said was he in another country? If so is it legal there? Also people need to realize no matter how famous a person is they’re still a person, cut him some slack we’ve all smoked pot in our lifetime!!

Why is marijuana illegal? When did it become illegal? but most important of all-Why is it still illegal? There is nothing no more wrong with marijuana than our other dangerous but legal drugs (alcohol) & (cigarette), these two for a proven facts have killed so many. Marijuana should be taken off the list of illegal drugs. This would make the needed space in our prison system for the more serious crimes that will be filling them up because of what the banking system has done to our economy.
There’s nothing in that picture proving that he is even smoking, What he need to do is to really look at the people that’s around you.

People smoke pot everyday. Not that I condone drug use but the boy apologized and that should be that. Even if he had a problem which there’s no proof of that a true fan and human being would send there love and support, not try and tear him down. If he wasn’t a celebrity we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The media escalated the situation and the public ran with it. It’s sad that we put these stars on a pedestal and when they do something we don’t agree with we want to tear them down. They’re human just like the rest of us. Just because we’re fans doesn’t mean we own them. They provide service weather its music or acting etc. and we support them. They’re just like us and for those of you who say they’re role models. Parents need to be role models. Also, what are you teaching your children that they have to be perfect? Who can live up to that? Also, you’re teaching them that if they make a mistake that they should be crucified. Which isn’t right!
