Hilary Duff vs. Faye Dunaway: Catfight!

0204duffdunaway.jpg

Former Disney teen Hilary Duff is set to play the role of Bonnie in a remake of the classic "Bonnie and Clyde" -- and original bad girl Faye Dunaway is not happy about her successor!

Dunaway, who portrayed the bank robber in the 1967 original, was reportedly miffed when she heard that Duff had landed the role -- reportedly saying, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"

When Duff heard what Dunaway said about her, the claws came out -- and she suggested that Faye's days in the spotlight were up! "I think that my fans that are going to see the movie don't even know who she is," Hilary told E! News, "So you know, I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now too." Mrrrrrrrrrrrow!

"The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" is scheduled to be released in 2010, plenty of time for this feud to play out!

To a really insecure person, Faye’s comment will seem mean….but to a more grounded person, Faye spoke the truth.

Hilary isn’t such a bad actress, she was good in War, Inc.
What Faye said was just kindof mean.

Wow - any of you who are inept enough to take any of this seriously need to get off the computer and out into society more. Hollywood has manipulated the media with stunts like this since the beginning of time. It’s the comments sections that are a bigger laugh than the stories these days, so THANK YOU!

I agree with Jonathan (and Faye) and go farther to say that the disney stable in the last 20 has been proof that with enough marketing, a cast that yells to act(like oxy clean guy), and neon colors onscreen, anyone can be a STAAAAHH.. no matter how incompetent they are. and Disney channel is the single most irritating channel i am aware of b/c of this.

Kudos to Faye for a well earned career.

Faye is a second rate actress at best. Not to lend to the notion that the over hyped, Disney Marketed, Duff is anything better. This “cat fight” is really nothing more than a publicity stunt cooked up by both failing actresses publicists. No one in America really pays much attention to either actress out side of the celebrity fight/gossip columns, and even the columnist must think there life has reached a new all time low as the best thing they have to report on is “Young Bonnie” vs “Old Bonnie”

I think that Faye Dunaway is very astute.

I know Faye can be a beotch. But she is an academy award winning actress. And just because people under 30 don’t care about anything pre-internet, Faye’s comments are fair. Who is Hillary Duff? Who is Mylee Cyrus? Who cares about them but teenage girls? It’s all a marketing game now, and that’s a shame.

Talk about people in glass houses! Hilary Duff has gotten uglier every year after Lizzie McGuire. Can we say horseface?

Wow! What a way to encourage a young actress! I am sure Hilary was very excited to get the role and wanted to really give it her best and I am sure she would have loved to get some helpful advise from Faye but ….slam! Let’s give the girl a chance. The Sally Field comparison was great anyone remember “Gidget” and the “Flying Nun”? Well Sally does! I think Faye is a fine actess but she does tend to overact in my opinion. Seriously Faye show some class and give the girl some respect. I think you really insulted her for no reason except to be a snob.

Who the f_ck is Faye Dunaway…Hilary Duff is exactly right. I didnt even know she was an actress, except in the old days. Were the movies in color then? I mean, why be such a hater…Did her old a_s think she would be RECAST!?!? Seriously… I mean, they want to make money on the film and not have it be a mockery…LOL

Faye dunaway is as relevant to acting as Madonna to singing. Both big stars, but, you gotta wonder why.

Back in the day, movies were taken sriously, as an art as well. There were actors and stuff. Nowadays it’s about pushing these non talented barbies on teenagers until they are brinwashed to love them. Mrs Dunaway’s comment was very apropriate, but showed that indeed she’s a bit off modern showbusiness (more money, more brainwash, less entertainment).

No matter what you think about Hilary Duff, it was a mean thing to say.

It is absolutely horrid that they casted Hillary Duff in a remake of such a classic. Hillary Duff. I would love to see anyone tell me with a straight face that she is a legitimate actress. Name one movie where she delivered a performance that was even watchable let alone good. She’s a sub par singer and an even worse actress. She’s the worst possible teen fluff and this isn’t some sort of stupid teens looking to get a girl movie so what is she doing in it? The movie will fail, they will realize they screwed up and this mistake will never be made again. Go away Hillary, spare yourself and those unfortunate enough to watch this.

I totally agree with Faye’s comment…Faye is an accomplished actress….Hilary is definitely not. If you have every seen anything she tried to act in, you will see what a bad actress she really is. Hilary Duff is a poor choice for the part! What about Scarlett Johannson, Drew Barrymore, Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet. Anyway why a remake? Let this one be!
