Hilary Duff vs. Faye Dunaway: Catfight!

0204duffdunaway.jpg

Former Disney teen Hilary Duff is set to play the role of Bonnie in a remake of the classic "Bonnie and Clyde" -- and original bad girl Faye Dunaway is not happy about her successor!

Dunaway, who portrayed the bank robber in the 1967 original, was reportedly miffed when she heard that Duff had landed the role -- reportedly saying, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"

When Duff heard what Dunaway said about her, the claws came out -- and she suggested that Faye's days in the spotlight were up! "I think that my fans that are going to see the movie don't even know who she is," Hilary told E! News, "So you know, I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now too." Mrrrrrrrrrrrow!

"The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" is scheduled to be released in 2010, plenty of time for this feud to play out!

I don’t know much about Duff, but I always thought she was a good young lady with class. I see now she is the typical disrespectull, know nothing, ill mannered peice of trash. The government ran a study on her age group and concluded that the generation had nothing to contribute our society and that they were basically worthless (with exception 0fcourse). I see Duff is the same mud as the people in the studies. TRASH

Faye Dunaway is closing in on 70. When she was younger she was a thousand times more beautiful than Hilary Duff could ever dream of being. And Faye’s absolutely right. Duff may be a star with the Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers teeny bop crowd, but she’s no actress.

Old stars don’t fay away, especially icons like Faye Dunaway, who recently locked horns with “Stepford Kid” Hilary Duff of Disney fame, who is reprising Dunaway’s Academy Award nominated role of Bonnie Parker in the remake of “Bonnie and Clyde.” While it is true that Duff’s name will sell tickets today, the question remains whether her performance will withstand the test of time, as Dunaway’s has. Only time will tell, but what is undisputed is that Faye’s Academy Award nominated and winning performances have catapulted films like “Bonnie and Clyde,” “Chinatown” and “Network” into icon status, and create a benchmark that makes many a film maker wary of doing a remake. ….
And Dunaway will prove again this Spring that she is the consummate international movie star, not a “Barbie doll” creation of the new studio system, which runs on seven cylinders of hype and special effects and only one cylinder of talent. On May 4, 2009, Faye will have her rebuttal against Duff on the big screen when she stars as Jacqueline de Rossy, the elegant matchmaker in “Say it in Russian,” an award winning romantic thriller that debuts in theaters as part of Carmike Cinemas and Dalton Pictures’ Independent Film Series, produced by Imperia Entertainment, Inc. (OTC: IMPN). ….
“Her acting was amazing, and she looks pretty hot in our film,” said Jeff Celentano, Director. In fact, Faye proved she was no old lady on the set when a fire sprinkler went off and the Fire Marshal tried to shut down shooting. Hiking up her one of a kind dress, the last design for a film ever made by the late renowned fashion designer, Oleg Cassini, especially for Faye, she waded through the water, giving cleanup orders to the crew. “She was like our own unsinkable Molly Brown,” said Celentano. ….
Filmed in Paris, Moscow and Los Angeles, with exceptional cinematography and a fully orchestrated original score, “Say it in Russian” stars Russian actress Agata Gotova, in the lead role of the film as Daria Larina, the daughter of a rich Russian mafia oligarch played by Serbian actor Rade Serbedzija. Gotova’s character falls in love with the American Andrew Lamont, played by actor Steven Brand, but Andrew soon finds on a visit to Moscow that he is involved with a family that is more complicated and dangerous than he ever imagined. Faye Dunaway plays the role of Jacqueline, a Paris socialite who acts as the matchmaker for Andrew and Daria. ….
“Say it in Russian” is the official selection for the 2009 Honolulu International Film Festival, the 2009 Omaha Film Festival, the 2008 Geneva Film Festival, and the 2008 Other Venice Film Festival, and the winner of Best Big Budget Film from the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival, a Silver World Medal from the New York Festivals 2009 International Film and Video Awards, Winner of Best in Show from The Indie Distribution Fest, as well as the winner of The Indie Fest’s Award of Excellence in Cinematography and Award of Merit for Actor Rade Sherbedgia. The producers plan a series of unprecedented Hollywood style red carpet gala events in several selected venues to kick off the theatrical release…..

Faye has a point. Hollywood’s product has become more expensive and the quality has degraded to the point where name actors and special effects are more important than the story, the characters, and the performances. It doesn’t matter if Hilary can act or not because we will all patronize the garbage that the studios continue to put out. Check out Faye in our film-she can still act and looks good on camera

Faye is just an old bag and is jealous of someone younger than her. Faye have the plastic surgeons reaarange your old face so you can play the part, if that is possible, that might be too much rearranging according to your looks.

first off, I love both Hilary Duff and Faye Dunaway. I also love the classic 1967 version of “Bonnie and Clyde.” I though it was one of the best movies ever made. I have respect for the stars and especially for Faye Dunaway, I would wait until the new version of the movie is release before we get all of this criticism from both sides. it’s hurtful when Duff and Dunaway are throwing at each other. My guess is the new version of Bonnie and Clyde won’t be a great as the 1967. You can’t take that away from that film. But we need some cooler heads over this.

Faye is very snob and jealous of … not being part of the new movie!

There are many acting styles. We do not know how is the script of the new movie: it may turn out that the part is very appropriate for Hillary. So, why all this bashing? Faye is old enough to show some respect, if she wants respect for herself and her work.

Why actresses are so diva, not much professional, and show so much hostility between one another — much more than male actors?

The original movie starred ALL Academy Award winning actors. The movie was nominated for Best Picture, see all the nominations below:

Best Picture
Best Director - Arthur Penn
Best Writing, Story and Screenplay - Written Directly for the Screen - David Newman and Robert Benton
Best Actor in a Leading Role - Warren Beatty
Best Actress in a Leading Role - Faye Dunaway
Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Michael J. Pollard

The film won at least two Oscars and started a fashion revolution around the world. It also changed Cinema forever.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Gene Hackman
Best Costume Design - Theadora Van Runkle

It was not just “hit”, the movie was art, a classic, a top 100 of all time. The film was a cult classic in the 60’s for it’s horrible violence, and the first film to show homosexuality and brutal unrepentant murder. For the teens on this site, Bonnie & Clyde were real. Bank robbers, lover,s and murders who met their end in the bloodiest shootout in history.

The actors were the stars of real stage drama and of screen.
Anything Duff makes will be a teen nothing and be forgotten in five minutes.

All of the idiot Hill fans who are uneducated teens need to see the original.

I think Hilary will do fine, but I dont see a reason to remake this movie. I think they are both immature. Faye should feel honored that they are remaking the movie, I mean they couldve picked a worse actress and they picked hilary duff who isnt fantastic, but shes not horrible.

Comparing Hilary to Faye is like comparing Roseann Barr to Lucille Ball….no way. There is no replacing the legends. Most of the young so called talent today is dull. Like alot of the young singers can’t carry a tune in a bucket!

To all you young ignornant posters, rent some of Dunaway’s films and you will see a great actress at work in some of the most intellegent films of the past forty years. Her acting ability has made her a legend. There is a reason she has maintained her high status in the industry and that reason is her talent. Faye Dunaway looks fantastic. If Hilary Duff is still around in 47 years I’d like to see what she looks like. I have a feeling she’ll be cashiering at a liquor store near her trailer park.

Hope she shows some hot T & A in her movie…about only reason to go see it. Otherwise, get the Dunaway version on DVD…more believable than a teen queen bank robber. Who’s next - Linday Lohan as Patty Hearst? What casting crap !

- Uh huhhhh
