Clooney and Obama in the Oval Office?

0220clooneyobama.jpg

Is George Clooney planning to meet with President Obama to talk to about the crisis in Darfur?

That's true! Clooney confirmed to Ann Curry he's meeting with the President next week. George talked to NBC News during his visit to refugee camps in Africa, telling Ann, "We want him (Obama) to appoint a high level full time diplomat... to work hard and negotiate for a peace treaty."

The actor/activist was named a "Messenger of Peace" by the United Nations in January 2008.

The United Nations reports that at least 300,000 people in Darfur have died from combined effects of war, famine and disease, while another 2.2 million have been forced from their homes.

Is there something wrong with paying people compliments including our President? Ronald Reagan was governor and President and his wife was an actress. Alan Autry from Heat of the Night show was mayor of Fresno, Ca for 8 years.

Clooney has enough money that he will never have to work another day of his life. If he cares so much about Darfur, why doesn’t he volunteer to this position free of charge to the American people?

Dear ‘Our Celebrity President’ - RIGHT ON! I loved wit in fact stating. Hey, did you hear sean penn (at the oscar ceremony)thank the US for choosing an ‘elegant man’ to be president?!?!?! This is the thought process that runs rampant in the celeb world. Too bad it ran as rampantly as it did, but, oh well, beware of what you want, right? So, we have, money, orpah, celeb status, and ELEGANCE. These are the new qualifications for pres. Experience? - nah, we don’t need no stinkin’ experience…

- not a celeb; not a hand-out recipient

Our “celebrity president’ will of course hear of all the efforts of our CELEBRITIES and in OTHER NATIONS!!

After all, it’s the problems that the rich and wealthy face that are MOST important. Besides, …the president without his celebrity status is just another black/white/ muslim man… it takes LOTS of money to BUY the Presidency- he’s gotta look to 2012 and keep all his ducks in a row including OPRAH! Money, will always speak louder than average american people… (in case you haven’t noticed that with this president YET).

I am so happy that George has been trying to help the people in Darfur. It has brought attention of their plight to the people of the world. Because of people like him perhaps there will be a end to their misery. I can’t imagine the terrible things that they (the survivors) have been through ( not to mention the people that have perished. We are spoiled and therefore sometimes don’t see the tribulations others suffer. I am proud of the efforts of George and others to make a difference, you ROCK GEORGE!!!!Also his father NICK!!!!!! Be Proud guys, all of you are to be commended, just be careful guys…………stay safe…………:)
