Brown: 'Sorry and Saddened over What Transpired'

0208brown.jpg

Chris Brown has broken his silence about what went down with his girlfriend Rihanna the night before the Grammys -- and while the singer doesn't go into specifics about the alleged incident, Brown apologized for his responsibility in the argument.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person," Brown said in a written statement.

He added, "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."

Chris Brown’s behavior has a lot to do with the environment that he grew up in. In a prior interview he spoke strongly about violence against women, YET he did it anyway (?) … perhaps because he thinks it’s “ok”? He is an adult so he knew what he was doing. If he wants to be treated like an adult, then he should own up to what he did fully, unconditionally and with sincere remorse. Aside from an apology, the most important thing for him to do is to also admit that he has a problem and should make every effort to deal with ‘that’ problem by seeking professional help … and make a conscious effort NOT to make the same stupid mistake. Yes, I said stupid because he is a public figure and supposedly a role model to kids of his generation.

i’m sure chris was told not to talk by his attorneys and could give an apology only. i feel for everyone - am waiting on all the facts before making judgment. people easily forgave phelps at the age of 19 same age as chris now - not saying hitting anyone is right. yet again phelps at the age 23 years old doesn’t get it but its ok because its pot. children aren’t affect by phelps, against the law, and a young person could die because phelps got away with it or go to jail. (that’s kinda what is happening to the others at the party - phelps walks free - no justice there) oh yea forget its just pot

He should be sorry. I take Rhianna’s side. She is my favorite singer. I like Chris Brown but he shouldn’t have hurt Rhianna. Now I don’t like him at all. There is no reason in the world why he should’ve hurt her.

He better be sorry! He should have thought of that before he threw his weight around. He’s only sorry he got caught.!!! I hope the radio stations continue to pull his music from the air waves. It’s time people quite glamorizing, and downplaying violence.

If Chris wants to beat girls like a so-called gangsta, he should volunteer to get initiated like a gangsta. Needs to get a first-class a** whipin’. Who’s in?

well i think any guy that wants to abuse his gf or abuse any women should go to hell..its not right what men do to women.. i dont no who they think they are..they think they can just control the girls whole life..im sorry to say this has to end. Men need to get it in there heads that we are not just objects, we are human beings. We don’t deserve to be treated like crap.. men are controling everything women do..like who they talk to, who they hang out with, and what they even wear. its got so bad that teenage boys are doing it..What Chris Brown did was bad, but hes not the first teen boy to do it..He is just one that got caught. Parents need to be more protective of there daughters..if it comes down to it they need to check for bruises. people need to speak out and learn this is serious…and you CAN get seriously hurt.
