0102travolta.jpg

The 16-year-old son of John Travolta has died while vacationing the in Bahamas with Travolta and wife Kelly Preston.

Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas confirmed the death to TMZ.

Reuters reports Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, attorney Michael Ossi said. Ossi also confirmed attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.

Travolta has denied that his son is autistic, but confirmed that he suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome, which often leads to heart disease.

Travolta and Preston also have an 8-year-old daughter, Ella Blue.

UPDATE: AP reports that Police in the Bahamas say the death was subsequent to an injury Jett sustained by hitting his head in a bathtub Friday morning.

Jett was found unconscious in the bathroom by a house caretaker. He was rushed to Freeport hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from Chief Police Superintendent Basil Rahming.

Condolenzez witout grammer and god splling re stupid lkie there commenters.

TRANSLATION: Condolences without good spelling are stupid like their commentators.

GET A DICTIONARY. And, hey, do you REALLY think your messages will be read by the family? If I lost a child, asinine messages by random people who don’t know me or my family would never be read.

Better yet, realize that civilians are dying in Gaza and soldiers are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq…some privileged celebrity’s child dying is NOTHING in the face of the real world. Grow up.

Dear Travolta Family, I am so very deeply sorry for your loss. This is a horrific way to start a new year. I have been a fan of John since he was Vinny Barbarino. I have always admired how much of a phenomal actor and actress you both are. May God be with you at this very painful time in all of your lives. As I have learned on many occasions one minute at a time is the best way to heal.

Dear John, Kelly and Ella, I’m so sorry to hear the tragic news of your son Jett’s death. I began praying for him and all of you when I heard the news. There is no greater loss than that of a child I know because I lost my youngest son a year ago in August. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts. Sincerely, A Fan Friend

I don’t understand how people can be so cruel in a time of grief. kids are kids and it doesn’t matter what faith they are or what religion my condolences to such a sweet family. they are human just like we all are.

- commentors please don't be so cruel

Extra,I beg you to please remove the cruel and negative comments to the Travolta family. Their sweet young son has died and I can only imagine the pain and suffering they are all feeling at this time. This is not the appropriate situation to debate religious or political views, it’s a time to reach out to this family with compassion. How can people be so cruel and heartless? Please, please remove all negative comments. The Travolta family does not need to be exposed to such ridiculous cruelty during their time of morning.

As for the Travolta family I send you my most sincere prayers in your time of pain.
