The 16-year-old son of John Travolta has died while vacationing the in Bahamas with Travolta and wife Kelly Preston.

Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas confirmed the death to TMZ.

Reuters reports Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, attorney Michael Ossi said. Ossi also confirmed attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.

Travolta has denied that his son is autistic, but confirmed that he suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome, which often leads to heart disease.

UPDATE: AP reports that Police in the Bahamas say the death was subsequent to an injury Jett sustained by hitting his head in a bathtub Friday morning.

Jett was found unconscious in the bathroom by a house caretaker. He was rushed to Freeport hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from Chief Police Superintendent Basil Rahming.

Question: “Do we have an appointed time of death?”

Answer: The Bible tells us that “all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:16). So, yes, God knows exactly when, where, and how we will die. God knows absolutely everything about us (Psalm 139:1-6

Dear Kelly , John and family,
There is no greater pain in this world than losing a child (I have lost 7 while pregnant)and it shatters your world and soul on so many levels that no one can fully understand unless they share that same loss.I know you will get millions of e-mails from people that you have entertained over the years and tons of calls from others that love you and know you well. Take time for the 2 of you alone and your daughter.Do not feel obligated because you are a celeb. to talk to anybody. This is a horrific and personal matter and you should just be left alone to deal with your very hearbreaking emotions with your family. I never got to hold my babies but I am sure Jet was so blessed to have the two of you as parents!
My 5 year old saw the report on extra about Jet passing away and he turned to me with tears in his eyes and said ” mommy that is so sad for that family can we send them a card to make them feel better and say a prayer?” I explained to him that we do not know where you live so we can not send a card but I told him I would send this e-mail and we did say the prayer.
May all the seconds, minutes, days, months and years you enjoyed with Jet give you some kind of solace at this very hard time.
Your family is in our families’ thoughts and prayers. Terri B-D Grafton,Mass.

Dear Beautiful Travolta Family,
My heart is pierced with the pain you are feeling. It is beyond imagination to know how or why things like this happen, yet we know it can happen- and it is apart of life- but that doesn’t make acceptance any easier,no matter what our beliefs. You see, I too am suffering and trying to accept the fact that I can no longer hold my son. He was killed in a car accident- on his 28th birthday July 6th- and I know everyone has pain, but there is truely no greater pain that the death of a child. Jett will always be in your heart & soul and I pray my son is holding him like a brother, out there- somewhere…

We all have a place deep down inside,

Where no one can see us, where we hide and cry.

A lonelier place there cannot be,

Than inside one’s self, where no one can see.

Like still waters, emotions run deep

Calm on the outside,While inward we weep

But this isn’t right and should not be;

Feelings that are shared are precious indeed.

To experience a tear through another’s eye

Doesn’t hurt as much when together we cry.

A greater gift cannot be given, you see,

Than to share our heartaches in loving harmony.

If all could learn to pull from inside

A need to share instead of to hide,

A better place this old world would soon be,

And all it takes to do this is you, ‘n you,

N you and me.

My heart goes out to the Travolta family, it’s obvious they are truly a loving, caring, nurturing couple who love each other and love their children and put them first. I am so sorry for their loss. I just hope the paparazzi will give these wonderful people the time and space and quiet they so despretely need. I hope as fans we will too.

I am so sorry, I wish their was something I could do??

There are no words to express my condolences. While you thought Jett was resting, he was on his way to Heaven.

Hopefully the autopsy reports will show that it was painless death.

In viewing all the videos of John and his family, I see nothing but unconditional love.

May your broken hearts be mended by your beliefs.

I lost my brother of 17 when I was 16 to aplastic anemia in 1965. I witnessed what my parents felt. I lived what I felt.

My personal comfort was that my brother was soon to graduate high school and surely be drafted for Viet Nam….so I thank my God that instead, he died with my mother’s arms around him and not on a foreign field. That was our only consolation..thanks be to God.

No one could comfort me by telling me that time will ease the pain. However, it does ease the pain. Not wholly but it does help.

Such a loss makes us cherish every precious moment of life and there is nothing invented that can bring back our loved ones taken in death.

To quote John Donne: One short sleep past, we shall awake eternally. And death shall be no more. Death thou shalt die.

John Travolta And Kelly Preston Help Raise $1.2 Million for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit John Travolta and Kelly Preston were honored guests at the 27th annual Red Rose Ball held in Jacksonville, Florida on February 15. Their participation made the event the most successful one-day charity fundraiser in Jacksonville history netting $1.2 million for a new neonatal intensive care unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital. I’ve never known anyone more generous and philanthropic than John and Kelly,” says Ossi. “Both John and Kelly have a huge heart for children and children’s issues. They stayed at the event for nearly five hours greeting nearly every one of the 720 guests. The celebrities epitomize the very best in Hollywood; they offer their personal time and star power to help children.”
