Travolta Lawyer: John Still in a State of Shock

0104travolta.jpg

Days after the sudden death of John Travolta's son Jett, 16, the actor and his family remain in a state of shock, according to the family attorney.

"He never dreamed of this -- their relationship was so close," Mike Ossi, who is in the Bahamas with the Travolta family, told People magazine. "He always said 'I'm happy as long as my kids are happy.' He is heartbroken -- to bury your son is the worst thing you can ever do."

After Jett was found unconscious in the bathroom, the "Grease" star attempted to resuscitate him. "He didn't want anything to happen to that boy, and he kept on trying to revive him," Ossi explained. "He did mouth-to-mouth until they had to physically remove John to take Jett to the hospital."

Mike McDermott, John's corporate counsel, said, "John did everything in his power to revive [his son.] John and Jett had a very strong relationship. Words cannot explain how close they were. This will take a lot of time. His life will never be the same again."

Jett was the only son of Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston. The couple also has a daughter, Ella, 8.

I can’t imagine the heartache John, Kelly & Ella are going thru right now. It’s every parents worst nightmare - to bury a child. My prayers and sympathies are with the Travolta’s at this time and forever. EVERYONE should be praying for them & Jett, NOT making horrible comments. NO ONE EVER gets over BURYING their child, no matter what their religion is!

I had a son die at the age of two and 1/2. It was the toughest time I had ever went through to that time. My heart and soul go out to the Travolta family. I also agree with the lady about negative comments at this emotional time in someone’s lives. Please, is you can’t say anything regarding sympathy at this time, keep your words to yourself. God bless the Travolta and other families who have gone through moments in time like this. RFW - Atlanta, GA

My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with the Travolta family. Most of us know what they are going through; but that still does not make the grief go away. I think most of the Civilized world grieve with them in this most terrible moment. May God show his love to them at this time. RFW - Atlanta, GA.

Mi mas sentido pesame a la familia Travolta por la irreparable perdida de su hijo. Es algo sumamente triste pues es la vida de alguien muy amado por su familia y amigos. Que su alma descanse en paz.

Maybe his son tried to leave Scientology, and John’s brothers in Xenu you know…took care of things.

Scientology killed this boy. He should have been taking an anti-seizure medication. Had he not been denied medical attention, he would be alive.

Twenty-six years ago my 17-year-old son was killed in a traffic accident. I think of him every day. People aren’t supposed to outlive their children and the death of a child is the ultimate tragedy. The Travoltas now belong to an exclusive club, with only one, horrible, unthinkable, membership requirement. Only someone who has gone through it can fully understand. Someday, but not for a long time, life will be good again. But it will never be the same again. My thoughts are with the family.

It is the saddest of times when a parent must bury their child. My thoughts and prayers are with the Travolta family in their time of sorrow. Know that Jett will never leave you and he will live through you and your daughter for all time. You will meet again.

Extra please remove all the negative messages. This is not the right time for people to “go off” on the Travota family. Freedom of speech, same as freedom of religion. I wish those few people who are writing negative messages will stop. PLEASE MAKE THIS SITE SOMETHING THE TRAVOLTA’S COULD GO TO FOR COMFORT FROM THEIR FANS. IF YOU ARE NOT A LOYAL FAN… THEN PLEASE DON’T POST ANYTHING. THE FAMILY IS GRIEVING. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THEM.
