The Stars Come Out in Washington

0118obama.jpg

Barack Obama has made it to the capital -- and the star-studded celebrations in his honor are making D.C. the Hollywood of the east!

After attending church services in Washington on Sunday, Barack and his group will head to the We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial -- a concert to kick off the start of the inaugural bashes, fashion and glamour in D.C.!

Bruce Springsteen, U2, Beyoncé, and Josh Groban are set to take the stage at the historical celebration.

Rumor has it the future Commander-in-Chief will welcome a crowd that's expected to be as large as a half-million people! "This is a great opportunity to capture a historic event in a very meaningful setting," Don Mischer, producer and director of "We Are One," tells the Baltimore Sun. "We will have the statue of Abraham Lincoln looking down on our stage and a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people lining the mall -- a tableau any director would relish."

Yeah, and maybe on his day off, he’ll part the seas, too. The man has enough pressure on him already, and everyone’s foaming at the mouth about all the magic he’ll perform. The higher the pedestal, the tougher the fall.

Studies suggests that people with a negative way of thinking will be more prone to depression than most other people.
Stop, and have a deep look within yourself, the way you think.

my opinion -you’ll never change it. Who would really want to. You sound like a little twisted mind pathetic individual. You are right about only one thing and that is.. He is not the first President but he is the first BLACK one.How can you say this is an insult to the office or him… You see you have it all wrong. He knows by being the next President it’s not about HIM. He believes in UNITY in case you don’t know what that means it means coming together as one Nation no matter the COLOR OR CREED you are. You are absolutely Insane with some of the words you are using . Maybe you should go back and reread your post… not only are you pathetic you sound like you are deranged too.

It’s historical because Black people were brought by the white man on ships, they were schackled during the trip. Some died along the way. and they had no freedom they were owned. Now to have a black President to live in the white house is historical. The slaves built the white house and capitol building. I am happy for Obama. He has a huge task facing him already. Let Freedom ring.

President Obama is such a phenomenal guy. He is truly a people’s person. Never has there been a President more loved by his people. The affection the American public has for Obama is unprecedented. In times like these, it is good to have a leader who inspires such incredible hope and optimism. God bless Obama and God bless America.

I don’t understand the ‘historical event’ theme. There have been 43 presidents; he’s not the first one. There has always been a male president; he’s not the first one. It can’t possibly be that the ‘historical’ part is that he’s bi-racial; are we really pigeon-holing to that pathetic an extent? Why insult the office or the man? There are several nationalities that have never been ‘showcased’ in a presidential form; it’s a small part (or should be) of a person presiding over such a melting pot country. When there’s, say, a WOMAN president, then one might call that ‘historical’, since that would be a true first. But I bet there won’t be as much of an ACADEMY AWARD HOLLYWOOD SPECTACULAR EXTRAVAGANZA feel to THAT, as there is now. Nor, should there be - not now, not ever. It really does belittle the gravity of the position.
