Taylor Is Back for 'New Moon'!

The decision has been made! Taylor Lautner will be returning as Jacob Black in "New Moon," the sequel to "Twilight." Series author Stephenie Meyer confirmed the news on her website in a statement from director Chris Weitz.

"I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer," Weitz said.

Meyer added, "I'm truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to Jacob's character this year."

Lautner, 16, is supposed to look 25 to play the character of the werewolf and be almost a foot taller. Lautner said he had been working out to convince producers he could reprise his role.

"New Moon" is scheduled to be released November 20.

For real? I think it will be a big mistake to replace these actors, besides Vanessa is to dark skin to pull offf be a cream color. PLEASE rethink this go with your gutt not what Hollywood wants!

I read this and I was immediately relieved. I didn’t know where to check for this news until I typed “New Moon” into the Google search. Taylor Lautner is definitely the best choice for Jacob Black. Moreover, changing the actor for such a major character does seem very wrong.

I knew that he would come back! No question about it! He by far is the best “Jacob” there could be! If anyone out there read the books, they would agree! Taylor, there are so many people out there who are so happy to have you back! Oh and by the way, when you visited Colorado a few months ago, you signed my friends arm cast at the Park Meadows Mall outside of Hot Topic. You probably dont remember but I just thought I would tell you!!! Glad your back!!!!!
