Swayze's First Sign of Illness

0106swayze.jpg

Did Patrick Swayze first realize something was seriously wrong with him while celebrating on New Year's Eve?

It's true. Swayze told Barbara Walters that when he sipped champagne it felt like "pouring acid on an open wound."

Swayze opened up to Walters in his first TV interview since being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last January.

The full interview airs Wednesday, January 7 at 10:00 PM EST.

I wish you all the best in this battle against cancer. If anyone can beat this it is you, you have had the strength to do so much in your life. My heart goes out to your family and those close to you as you fight this through to wellness.

A dear friend owned Thistlewood Farm in Kerrville, Texas where Patrick and Lisa kept their Arabians years ago. He and my husband surprised my kids and me by having us up there when Patrick and Lisa were there. I was honored to spend a day with this remarkable, down to earth man and will never forget his kindness to my kids, even doing some moves for my young daughter who loved “Dirty Dancing.” Hang in there “Buddy!”

I lost my husband to cancer nearly 3 years ago, met another man who has pancreatic cancer for over a year also, hang in there and keep positive and never give up hope, a positive attitude helps so much and surrounds yourself with people with good hearts and strength.

I am so upset about hearing that Jett
died.I just keep thinking about it. My prayers go out to his family. This has to be the worst hurt ever.
He looked like such a nice young man.
I’m sure he is in the arms of God.

I feel so awful for PS. :( I never was a Dirty Dancing fan, but recently became a huge fan of his acting after seeing Donnie Darko. I look forward to The Beast. Prayers for a miracle.

To Diana Hill who left an earlier comment..it helps to actually read what the Post is about. Patrick has not recently been drinking alcohol. The post is about how after drnking champagne he realized there was something wrong and that’s how he was diagnosed.

I have be seeing a very special man for nearly two years, after the death of my husband who died of colon cancer, this man also has pancreatic cancer, he’s passed the six months the doctors gave him to live, his positive attitute gives me hope anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Keeping the faith that God puts people into your life for a reason is a good thing. Keep up the fight and believe.

Patrick ..
I wouldnt wish this on anyone.. what are you doing even thinking about ingesting alcohol.. do a complete body cleanse.. stay away from liquor..all kinds of liquor..
I have lost two family members to this, my grandfather (pancreatic, wasnt sick a day in his life and died in two months) my sister, bone cancer 38 years old..
dont mess with booze or drugs, clean up your body, go on a spiritual retreat and spend some time clearing your energy and body.. time to focus on the important things and let the rest go…
you dont need to smooze if you arent well.. take it easy for a while..
your a great actor, heal.. oh yeah, get a reverse osmosis and charcoal filter water system installed.. water is not as clean as they say it is.. our whole town here suffers from either cancer or bladder disease from dirty water and yes, we are in the city of south boston MA.. who would have thought that would happen.. we are notorious for having clean water.. you cant even just filter it anymore.. here we have to buy bottled.
I got really really sick from the water here.. trust me, change your water change your life!

Dear Mr. Swayze,
My wife died from pancreatic cancer this past April. My heart goes out to you and all those loving people who surround you.
I know first hand what you are going through.
Keep up the fight. You just might be the lucky one.

God Bless Patrick and grant him a return to good health. I thank him for the good times he has given me watching him in movies. Yes, “Dirty Dancing” tops my list as one of the best ever. I pray for his wife too. Blessings to all.
