Swayze 'Doing Fine'

Patrick Swayze is reportedly "doing fine" after the star checked into the hospital Friday morning. His mother, Patsy Swayze, says the actor "sounds really upbeat and positive." The star, 56, checked into the hospital for treatment of pneumonia and has also been undergoing treatment for inoperable pancreatic cancer.

Swayze's mom tells UsMagazine.com, "We don't talk about illness when I talk to him. He hasn't even been there a week!"

In the Barbara Walter's special "Patrick Swayze: The Truth," Swayze revealed he may only have two years to live. Patrick underwent chemotherapy treatment while filming his new show, "The Beast." Co-star Travis Fimmel tells "Extra" he isn't worried about Swayze, "I don't think it's serious at the moment. His system is very weak when you're doing chemo, so a little thing, you go in the hospital." Fimmel has hope, "He's just an amazingly strong human being." he says. "If anybody's going to get though it, it's him."

"The Beast" premieres Thursday, January 15 on A&E.

Patrick, I already wrote a comment but it didnt show up, so I will try again. I sent you an angel to watch over you. It is my Mom who passed away in 99 of Cancer. She will watch over you from heaven, as she loved your movies and watched them with me. You have great spirit, and love. You will beat this, I know it! I have a candle burning for you, and I hope you got my letter and card that I sent on the 12th. I watched the BW special, and I cried right along with you and Lisa. Have been checking in to see how Patrick is doing quite often. I watched the interview and he proved how amazing he is once again. What wonderful people he and his wife are. If love can save him he’ll live forever thats for sure. Your outlook is perfect, and I hope you know that so many people you do not even know care so much about you and are praying and pulling. Keep up with the natural remedies also. I’ve heard Aloe Vera juice works miracles also. Love you.

I told my husband this morning that if Patrick was our close friend I would send him a basket of flowers with two dancers at the top and a card that would make him laugh. I appriciated Patrick’s frankness on the interview so I thought he should get a genuine comment from a fan of 25 years.
