She would be better as Maria from the Eclipse book! Because she’s hispanic and Leah Clearwater is Quileute.

I have nothing against Vanessa personally, but I just really feel like Twilight should somehow stay separate from Disney. Like how some other book adaptations (no matter how good) like Spiderwick Chronicles, Harry Potter, Eragon, Secret life of Bees tried to stay separate and use other actors. That’s the only reason I wouldn’t want her, she as a person seems nice. Although I’ve only seen her in HSM, has she been in anything else anyone??

I don’t think Vanessa Hudgens would be bad playing Leah. It’s not like all she’s done is HSM. She played a character similar to Leah in Thunderbirds. I think she could pull it off. You can’t just asume because she’s a Disney actress she can only play Disneyish roles.

urgh! i simply don`t agree that Vanessa Hudgens will play the portray the role of Leah Clearwater. Its so awkward fro Vanessa to the role of Leah. And i think she cant change the sweet voice in HSM in a tonal way. You know the Leah Clearwater has an awesome chracter in the sequel, if Vanessa will take the role she shoul be in proper or seriously she must CHANGE herself!

Vanessa should be playing Emily, I don’t think she could bring the intensity and bitterness of Leah. Plus doesn’t Leah become a werewolf? I thought that Leah was went to be tall and sturdy, Vanessa Hudgens still has her ‘cutesy’ HSM voice and pink mini-skirt reputation for so many people.

Also she’s way too ‘innocent’ to handle a movie like this, with it’s dark romance and surreal plot. She’s not even native American! Plus she’d be way to young…..Perhaps she could play Claire?!
