Pete Wentz: Simpson Scrutiny 'Bad for Young Women'

0130wentzsimpson.jpg

Only "Extra" spoke with Pete Wentz in Tampa about the recent media scrutiny of sister-in-law Jessica Simpson and her curves.

The Fall Out Boy bassist told us, "I think that the media puts too harsh of a spotlight on women in general and I think it's a bummer. It's bad for young women. I see it affecting young girls who come to our shows and that's a bummer."

He continued, "Real beauty is on the inside, man."

Wentz and Fall Out Boy performed during the NFL Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash on Thursday night in Tampa.

wow. i think it is sad that your show has been focusing on healthly you and then you focus on calling another person “fat”. that’s ugly. well you are a entertainment show and like the industry you focus on being skinny and fake. real sad. is it really that big of an issue if someone is bigger than a size 2? shouldn’t you focus on more real issues like the celebrities who do things wrong or something like that?

Remember when jessica simpson was all about the media.. and on every other day?!! It was nauseating!

Now it’s not so flattering or convenient to be in the media spotlight! Tisk tisk.. when you’re a tabloid ho you don’t get to pick and choose what is broadcast’ to a nation! Unless of course you’re the newly elected President- then the media only has POSITIVE things to say!

This is pub for Jessica by her pr——bad one. I guess they have to think up of something as there’s nothing on her for a long time. Not really interested, though.

Lets move on. This is old news. who cares what pete Wentz says. He is a hypocrite, and he is superficial. He says what he likes most about Ashlee is her breasts, not her mind. who cares if women are fat or thin. I am sick of this issue and I am sick of the non-talented Jessica Simpson

all I can say is good for you Nick Lachey after all he has been through he still is a gentleman who says nothing but the best about a person. If he ever gets married again that will be one lucky lady now he is a total gentleman. I have to say I still wish him and Jessica would get back together they were the most cutiest couple ever. Jess you should have never let that one go what a catch he will be.

Yes, but the key is that it suited HER. Now, perhaps, SHE feels like she’s done with all that. There are plenty of large women in Hollywood, who are actually large. She’d have to gain another person tho fit the category that the so-called media are desperate to squeeze her into. I guess they ran out of obama stories this week…

When it suited Ms. Simpson, she used her body to her advantage. Unless you think that her role in Dukes of Hazzard was really to show off her acting talents.

It is the hypocrisy of Hollywood that leads to the scrutiny.
