Oprah to Work in Obama Administration?

0116oprahambassador.jpg

Media queen Oprah Winfrey has previously said that a job with Barack "never even occurred" to her -- but could she be singing a different tune?

That's a maybe. A South African newspaper is reporting that Lady O may be appointed the Ambassador to South Africa -- the home of her school for girls.

Winfrey recently told "Extra" that she has a contract to continue her talk show until 2011 -- and despite rumors, she will be staying on TV until then. "I have a contract until 2011, so right now that's what I have until someone writes me another one," she said. "I'm going to fulfill my contractual obligations and fulfill them happily."

Studies suggests that people with a negative way of thinking will be more prone to depression than most other people.
Stop, and have a deep look within yourself, the way you think.

I was speaking of Oprah and Oprah only. I am entitled to my opinion. I haven’t bashed any of yours. I merely agreed with another posted comment and stated mine. Can anyone tell me one thing Obama has done? This election was extremely driven by media. That is a fact regardless of who anybody voted for.

This keeps getting more and more ridiculous. I agree with Christine, he’s done NOTHING to show he’s any kind of hero. Just because Oprah knows how to throw her money to anybody she wants does not make her appropriate for any position. I didn’t realize we were looking for Hollywood to run our country. This is such a joke!

I think this is phenomenal. Oprah would be a great asset to any Administration. She is an incredibly accomplished woman. She placed her entire reputation on the line when she came out for Obama very early in the campaign. I would love to see her serve in some capacity or another.

Remeber SHIRLEY TEMPLE BLACK, she was an ambassador and she was an actress. Our beloved Ronald Reagan was an actor and a good one at that before he became governer and then President. How about Arnold, governer of California?

will she won't be the 1st

I am sad that people trust entertainment television shows to form an opinion and not do their own research and homework when it comes to anything related to poitics or business or foreign policy. You might as well say that Washington DC will be East Hollywood for the next 4 years. What a big JOKE for America. Maybe we can send all Hollywood types around the world as Embassadors…sounds good to me.

Please let this story be true. I have so much respect for Oprah. She’s the one who opened my eyes to Obama in the first place.

I don’t think Obama has earned the title of a “hero” as yet. We will all have to wait and see. He really has no track record to base his heroism on except that obviously he was Opra’s Idol.
