According to an account in the New York Post, President Barack Obama yesterday told Republican leaders, “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.” With George W. Bush now off the stage, it may be that Obama and some of his fellow Democrats view Limbaugh, and not John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, or any other elected official, as the true leader of the Republican opposition. One more thing, Byron. Your publication and website have documented Obama’s ties to the teachings of Saul Alinksy while he was community organizing in Chicago. Here is Rule 13 of Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals:

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Does the “O” in Oprah stand for Obama? Enquiring minds want to know. Is Oprah poised to use her show as a vehicle for the policies and propaganda of a radical Obama Administration, conditioning the masses to facilitate those socialist and non-American policies via cooperation and volunteerism?

ANONYMOUS of 1/20/09, 1:25 PM: There is no argument after that. Any rebuttal comes in the form of hoots, clicks, crackles and other meaningless sounds. The best and really only way of rising above ANY negativity, torment, disrespect,or humiliation, is to better oneself with one’s own accomplishments, self-worth, HARD WORK, and the knowledge that only you are responsible now for your own successes or failures. oh, PS: You hit it right on the headabout clinton. now let’s see if the 21ST CENTURY holds anything better for us who work hard, obey the law, and not try to get anything for nothing - because THAT is more demeaning and enslaving than ANYTHING.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton pledged Friday to overhaul U.S. foreign aid programs to increase assistance and give civilians a greater role in its delivery. But she warned that selling the public on the idea would be hard in troubled economic times. WHAT IS CLINTON THINKING WE NEED THE MONEY HERE IN THE U.S.

WE come 1st, not foreign countries

After the meeting, House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, questioned the size of the bill, now at $825 billion but expected to grow. “We expressed our concern about some of the spending that is being proposed in the House bill,” he said.” We’re borrowing this money from our kids.”

He said he doesn’t understand, for example, why the bill includes “hundreds of millions” of dollars for contraceptives. “How does that stimulate the economy?” he asked.

SOUNDS LIKE THINGS ARE HEADED DOWNHILL INSTEAD OF UPHILL. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT.

- hundreds of millions for contraceptives????

THE ‘ROE’ RULING

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade in 1973 that a Texas law criminalizing most abortions violated a woman’s constitutional right of privacy, which the court said was implicit in the due-process clause of the 14th Amendment.

“Jane Roe” was an alias used to shield the identity of Norma McCorvey, who sued Dallas County District Attorney Henry Wade.

In the 7-2 decision, the court sought to balance a woman’s right to privacy with a state’s interest in regulating abortion. Only a “compelling state interest” would justify restrictions, it concluded. Legal challenges have limited the reach of Roe but not overturned it.
WASHINGTON — President Obama on Friday quietly ended the Bush administration’s ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide information on the option.
Liberal groups welcomed the decision, while abortion rights foes criticized the president.

Known as the “Mexico City policy,” the ban has been reinstated and then reversed by Republican and Democratic presidents since Ronald Reagan established it in 1984. Democrat Bill Clinton ended the ban in 1993, but Republican George W. Bush re-instituted it in 2001 as one of his first acts in office.

Obama revamps rules on detainees
Updated
President Obama signs an executive order closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay Thursday in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington.

WASHINGTON — President Obama unleashed a passionate debate about the treatment of terrorism suspects by ordering sweeping changes in the rules for interrogation and the closing of the military prison at Guantanamo Bay.
Acting swiftly on a campaign promise two days after his inauguration, Obama signed a series of executive orders Thursday that call for closing Guantanamo within a year and moving out its 245 remaining detainees, shuttering CIA prisons overseas, and prohibiting harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding, which gives the sensation of drowning.

THE OVAL: ‘Values and ideals’ drive U.S. policy

In reversing policies set by the Bush administration, Obama said he wanted to send a message to the world that the United States will pursue the struggle against terrorism “in a manner that is consistent with our values and our ideals.”

The actions set off a debate in Congress, where Republicans decried the possibility that terrorists such as Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, would be transferred to military prisons in places such as California and Kansas.

WHAT THE HELL IS OBAMA THINKING? START HELPING US HERE IN AMERICA 1ST, DEAL WITH THOSE SOB’S LATER, OBAMA IS NOT PRIORITIZING, WE SHOULD ALL COME FIRST AND OUR SOLDIERS.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. I think the scripture that best fits is “Answer Not a FOOL According to his FOLLY”! I know that God is going to do exceeding, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think through this Man of Valor….Just shut up and Wait and See! I am so glad that we were all made in the image and likeness of GOD despite of what is said. And that Christ died for us all.

After reading the previous comments, it tells me that this country is very divided (especially racially…..) so having a black president is not going to change anything….it seems to have made it worse! Remember Bill Cosby’s message to the black men! Obviously they weren’t listening.
