Obama Inauguration Mania!

From this official Obama portrait just unveiled, to the cover of Time magazine, to Madam Tussauds in NYC -- Barack Obama is everywhere!

America is gearing up for the inauguration of the President-elect next Tuesday -- and that means galas and fashion in Washington D.C. -- including a Hollywood battle of the balls!

Mariah, Beyoncé and Jay-Z will be taking the stage at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, while the big show -- a free, star-studded concert on the National Mall in the capital -- has Halle Berry, Denzel Washington and Ashton Kutcher among celebrities on the guest list.

Which ball will be the one to attend? A Politico.com source tells us, "I would pick the Creative Coaltion Ball because it has the most wow factor. I was told on good authority that Secret Service had done a security sweep for the Creative Coalition Ball -- which at the very least means it's on Obama's radar."

Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, and Bow Wow will pump up a younger crowd at the "Kids' Inaugural: We are the Future" event. The President-elect recently penned a personal letter to his daughters and the youth of the nation via Parade magazine in order to keep young Americans excited about politics.

"Right after he won the election, Parade went to President-elect Obama and asked if he'd write a letter to his daughters," Parade editor Janice Kaplan explained to "Extra," adding, "He didn't need any convincing. I didn't change a word that he wrote."

Time magazine currently has Barack on the cover for the 13th time in a year -- and calls future First Lady Michelle "America's Next Top Model." Celebrity stylist Lloyd Boston agrees -- and reveals to "Extra" that the first daughters are fashion fierce! He suggests, however, that their mom should avoid trying to make the girls match at the inauguration. "Hopefully, she'll choose outfits for the girls that complement her and Barack, but aren't a complete match. That would be a fashion mistake."

Tune in to "Extra" all next week for our special coverage of Barack's inauguration, the parties -- and the glamour!

Stop, and have a deep look within yourself, the way you think.

I am so excited about this inauguration. It will be the greatest political event in US history. The inauguration fever is everywhere. In all my lifetime, I’ve never seen so many people of so many different backgrounds united in their love and support for one person. The inspiration that Obama embodies has conquered all social and ethnic barriers.

Although I won’t be able to make it to Washington physically, I’ll be glued to my television all day because I can’t miss what will be going on for the world. This is something that I’ll be telling my kids and grand-kids about. You only get a chance to witness something like this once in a lifetime. For so many people, this historic inauguration means so many different things to them. Some thought they would never live to see this day. I thank God that I am alive to witness it. Hope is alive in America.

Hey Poodle, it’s really a disgrace that bush sat on his a** while the country was slowly unraveling right in front of his eyes. He should have done more for our country. You are blaming the wrong president. Obama takes office 2moro, yet president bush has done nothing, he will soon go to his tx ranch and have lots of r & r. I don’t know he will sleep at night thinking about the 3 trillion federal deficit he is leaving obama with. Bush is the one that is arrogant. why didn’t he help the people when he was in offfice?

hey Poodle, want to blame the blame game? Then Blame Bush, that’s the man that got this nation in this awful shape, he is leaving obama with a 3 trillion federal deficit. Playing the blame game is fun, isnt it POODLE? Let’s point fingers if you want to. How is obama ever go to straighten out bushes messes, there are so many, where does he start? Sh*t I hate to be in Obamas shoes, i wouldn’t want the job.

why didn’t Bush do more to help the people out? He had plenty of time before he left office, yet he did nothing about it, he was just buying his time until his time was up for presidency. He is the arrogant puff bush that is, everything is collapsing all around us yet nothing was done. as a matter of fact he spent more time at his Crawford, tx ranch than at the white house. He should have let Cheney run the white house , after all he shot his friend when they went hunting, they could have sent cheney to look for Obama, he would have done the job he’s a straight shooter and doesnt miss, he would have got all the bad guys, the war would have been over and done with.

This inauguration is absolutely a disgrace I am in an uproar about the tab. We are not in a recession n we are in a depression. Mr Obama you want to make the history books as being the first black President why don’t you add yes, I am the first black President who said no I don’t want this circus Give the money to the people of the country that you say you love. You don’t love this country, You are just a pompous arrogant idiot. People just played into your hands. I for one didn’t. I’m too smart for that You played the American people. You preached CHANGE for two yrs on CHANGE if this is CHANGE oh boy what we are in for for the next four years. You will be a one term President and then let’s see how you g down in history. If you were smart which you are not you would of stopped this circus and helped the people of this country who are suffering. You say you love this country but you don’t. Mr Obama you are so full of it. When I see you on TV my channel will change The history books will write about the one term President who carried on a circus when the country was in a depression and he preached CHANGE and no more wasteful spending. People are being laid off left and right, Circuit City just laid off 30,000 people, The New York Times is going down partly because people are sick of reading their love affair with you and Phizer just laid off 30,000 people and you continue with your 160 million circus Go ahead. You pompous arrogant putz

Bushes inauguration didn’t cost that much at that time because it was cheaper back then, everything was. Inflation, as time goes on homes cost more, food costs more everything starts costing more. Gas at one time was 50 cents…..it’s the same amount but inflation has taken it’s toll on this nation. And how is Obama and different than any President when it comes to the inaugural ball? Is it that he is taller than bush, does obama walk different than bush or what other reason could it be that people think that Obama is not deserving of an inaugural ball? OH by the way, the white house was built mainly by black slaves, now isn’t that something? Hisory books are good to read.

It’s sickening how much this inauguration is going to cost. What kind of change is it when an inauguration costs millions (FAR more than Bush’s inauguration cost) and in the middle of a recession?! The Obama-worship is really getting to me, too. I’m tired of seeing all the idolization of him. He is just a MAN!! A man whose inauguration is costing taxpayers a whole heck of alot of money. Thanks Obama. What a way to “help” us out.

If Obama wants us to believe he will make change for this country how about not spending all that money on clothes, entertainment and going to Balls and put all that money back into the economy. WOW! WOULDN’T THAT MAKE A STATMENT! WE DON’T CARE WHAT MICHELE OR THE GIRLS ARE GOING TO WEAR! Also how about not remodeling the White House and put that 100,000.00 or so back into the economy? How about if he wants to make CHANGE, START NOW!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS PEOPLE? DO YOU KNOW THE MONEY WASTED ON THAT ONE DAY? THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY OF OURS WITH NO FOOD TO EAT AND NO HEAT OR SHELTER. COME ON, WAKE UP!
