Jett Travolta Mourned

0106john.jpg

"Extra" was on the ground at the Travolta family home in Ocala, Florida as John's plane touched down, as the family returned home after the tragedy in the Bahamas.

Reports are surfacing that the sprawling estate will be the site of Jett's funeral, which may be as early as tomorrow. "I think it's quite likely they would have it there," Splash News tells "Extra." "The family spends a lot of time there -- it's quite likely they would want Jett's ashes to be close to them." Friends of John and Kelly, including Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey, are rumored to be heading to Ocala to mourn.

Neighbors of the Travolta family in Ocala have been vocal with their support. "People love them here -- they do get out." said Dave Schlenker, the entertainment editor for the Ocala Star-Banner. "They never turn away an autograph -- they've been very good to this community."

John's Hollywood comrades have also expressed condolences on the loss. "Our prayers and our love are with them," Lisa Rinna tells "Extra" of Jett's death. "I can't even talk about it -- it's so horrific and it's just tragic."

People magazine's JD Haymen tells "Extra" that John shared an intractable bond with his son. "He really reached him on a level that no other person could. He was their son, first and foremost, and that's how he was treated. It didn't seem important to them to talk about what other obstacles he was facing."

On Jett's death certificate, the cause of death was listed as a seizure. "Extra" doctors weighed in on the subject -- suggesting that the fatal seizure may have been epileptic. "Describing something as a seizure disorder is less disturbing than epilepsy, where it really means the same thing in most cases," Dr. John Stern tells "Extra."

Some medical professionals still question whether or not Jett suffered from autism. "In general, people with autism are at greater risk for epilepsy," says Stern.

Keri Bowers, who worked with Travolta's brother Joey on a documentary about autism, denies reports of a rift between the brothers. "Absolutely not true," she said. "This has never been, to my knowledge, anything that was ever an issue between them, absolutely not."

Another "Extra" Lifechanger, Dr. Armand Dorian, tells "Extra" that many things can trigger a seizure, such as "not being on the appropriate medication, not on the appropriate dose, or not taking the medication if you have a seizure disorder."

You know, I want to feel sympathy for John and Kelly, but for some reason I just can’t. I feel very sad for Jett but there is just something fishy and not quite right about the Travolta’s that stops me from feeling overwhelmed for them. There are just too many unusual stories about them and their lifestyle which makes me think that they are not the pretty perfect picture that they would want us to believe. In my heart I think that there is alot of superficiality, fakeness and hypocritical behaviour going on behind those doors and this is what prevents me from shedding floods of tears for them. For Jett yes, for the Travolta’s no! Sorry, you may think thats harsh but its my gut feeling and I am usually right.

Coming from a mother with a son diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and hastily placed in an “Autism Study” I think we are missing the point here. The point is not if Jett was or was not autistic or why the family did not comment on it. A label or diagnosis does not make Jett less of a person, brother or son. In the eyes of a parent Jett was perfect and precious and I cannot imagine the loss they feel. I applaud the Travolta’s for not jumping on the celebrity bandwagon of exploiting whatever challenges their family has faced. I grieve for their loss.

The pain a parent has to endure when their “baby” (no matter the age)is gone, no can understand unless you are in that position. So please don’t question their believe and faith, it has nothing to do with the fact that they will never be able to kiss, hug, or see his smile! they are going thru enough grief and guilt, they dont need us to question them. unfortunately I belong to the same club they belong to now.
My Prayers are with them. His spirit and soul will never die!

Our deepest sympathies to John Kelly & Ella on the sudden & tragic loss of Jett. We pray for strength to the family to face & live with their grief & pain. My son has this condition which suddenly manifested over 7 years ago at the age of 14 & since then he is on carbamazepine. Can no therapy come up with an answer to banish this scourge? I’m praying to get him to live without this dependence. Faith can truly move mountains!

It is a bit upseting to even read some of these posts… religion has nothing to do with the loss of child.. I am a mother of two, and I can’t even begin to imagine the pain that this family must be going through.. This loss for any mother or father no matter what the circumstance are, wheather it is one our brave troops who passes or the child of a celebrities, like John Travolta and Kelly Preston… yes I believe in god and think he is beautiful just for giving us the blessing of a child, but religion is personal, and there is no reason why it should be brought up… BOTTOM LINE is a mother and a father have lost a child and no matter what anybody or any belief can ever repair this or take this pain away from them… yes time may heal but never the loss of a child … I really do hope that during this time John Travolta and Kelly Preston are nowhere near the media because it is just horrible to see how people forget that they are human beings, and regular people, that they are a mother and a father like my husband and I… My heart goes out to the Travolta and Preston families.

Now Jett is in GOD’S HANDS!! Even though his parents did not believe in God, God does take care of children. Jett is probabley better off resting in God’s arms. May all the Christains pray for his soul.

I don’t know what to believe anymore, they believe in god , then they don’t. our prayers for them in vain? I hope not, i like to believe in happy endings. This story has a lot of twists and turns like “who dunnnit it? it would be nice for john and kelly to have some kind of memorial for all deceased soldiers under Jett’s name, that would be awesome, angel “jett” watching over soldiers.
