Jason Wu Woos Michelle with Inaugural Gown

jason wu inaugural gown

Fashion whiz kid Jason Wu (he's only 26!) designed Michelle Obama's inaugural ball dress. The ivory, floor-length gown has ruffles and a white sash that cuts across one shoulder. Born in Taiwan, Wu attended Parsons School of Design in New York, interned for another Michelle Obama fashion favorite, Narciso Rodriguez, and was recently voted a "Designer to Watch" by Elle magazine.

Wu is a perfect fit for the newly-minted First Lady because he creates for a woman's hourglass silhouette, and his design sensibility captures the female form in innovative, stylish ways.

I believe what you were you trying to say, was “fervor”? I think she looked very nice and very happy!

Would be a nice gown is it was properly made. It looked very heavy instead of flowing. One could see that this gown was a little annoying to dance in, and it became lop-sided after a couple turns ie: the zipper was out of alignment which means the bodice did not fit snug. Instead of sticking the one sided piece which was only held by a piece of thread, a couple spaghetti straps could have been sewn on.

This ferver over what the first family wears is kind of pathetic.
