why don’t they give awards to all of the runner ups only to make up and pick up the slack for the dead actors and or actressessfor them and for themselvesin all awards shows

I don’t think it’s a mistake, I think it’s a calculated ploy to get people to watch the broadcast. They staged a “leak” or “mistake” to generate free publicity in the hope that it will make more people watch the show. Since there was no Golden Globes show last year, they need to rebuild their audience.
