Eating in 'The City'
Welcome to New York, Whitney! On Monday night's Episode #3 on MTV, Whitney and friends ate at some yummy, moderately-priced Big Apple eateries, all in downtown Manhattan.

The Smith -- East Village
What you need to know:
With its white tile, it looks like a subway station, but smells a helluva lot better. Has a reclaimed barn wood ceiling, a barber's chair near the restroom and a photo booth for private snaps.
Tasty Tip: On Sundays, you can get a burger and a beer for $14.

Brass Monkey -- Meatpacking District
What you need to know:
Dark and woody low-key environs with excellent pub grub and a gazillion types of beer from around the globe.
Spacious roof deck that overlooks the Hudson River.
Tasty Tip: Adorable Irish bartenders pour $4 happy hour pints.

Stanton Social -- Lower East Side
What you need to know:
Industrial design meets retro blood-red banquettes in this three-level bistro. Huge multi-ethnic menu with plates meant for sharing.
Tasty Tip: A well-priced "Morning After" brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 to 3:00, and try the "Black Magic" -- Guinness and Gaston Chiquet Brut champagne for $10.
