I forgot to mention that the vacation would also be good for my husband that is recuperating from a 24 day stay in the hospital from a bad dental procedure( bad tooth abcess that required a root canal that was done poorly) that put him in the hospital for the 24 days, 3 trips to the OR which resulted in 3 stays in the ICU and 3 stays in PCU and then to rehab. He has a trachea in his throat and a feeding tube in his abdomen to his stomach for his nutrition on a daily basis. He went in the hospital on Dec. 22nd, 2009, what a way to spend the Christmas holidays, and the next day his dad passed away in a hospital out of town and my husband could not attend his own dad’s funeral. While I was on my way to the funeral my husband was on his way into OR for the second time, what a bummer. They took him into the OR to remove another golf ball size abcess in his jaw. He can not swallow anything except maybe ice chips and pudding or yogurt. Not sure what the outcome is going to be yet on his health. So, see a vacation would be great once he can go on a vacation. Just thought I would also mention that his airway was 98% blocked when he arrived in the ER and the doctor said he could die from this. The doctor could not even see down my husband’s throat with that light thing he used to see down his throat. His face was so swollen along with his tongue he had to be rushed into the OR or he could die right in front of the doctor’s eyes and mine as well. He has had several swallow test done while in the hospital and after one of the swallow test one day they reinserted the trachea in and it started to bleed around it and the doctor called to inform me that they were rushing him back into surgery for the third time to stop the bleeders. That put him back into the ICU for the third time. He came home on Jan. 14, 2009. He has to sleep in a hospital bed because he can not sleep flat. Well, that is how our lives have been since Dec. 22,2009. So, do we need a vacation, I think so.

Great fan,
Judy Wiggs

I’m now unemployed and I haven’t been on a vacation in over 10 yrs. Looking for a new job is harder than working a job 80 hours a week because of the money stress. I’m a single mother to both of my daughters, ages 19 and 25, who live with me along with my two beautiful granddaughters, ages 5 1/2 & 14 months old. At my old job that I had from 2005-2008, the vacation time I did get was used to make up lost hours when I was out sick or had family emergencies. While I was working, I was also going to college full-time to make my family’s lives better until I graduated with honors from the local community college in 2006. Prior to that job I had lost my job in 2004 then my unemployment ran out in 2005 and we lost the rental house that we had right when I started my latest job. So when I graduated from college, we were homeless but I kept my family together with all the pets. I’ve always had to play catch up with my bills because of losing my job usually due to the economy and never made enough to go on a nice vacation besides not having any vacation time on the job. I can’t even afford to put money into a 401K or IRA. I’ve always dreamed of going some place warm and beautiful where I can just relax and not worry about everything and everyone for a change but have never had the money and the opportunity. If I was to win this trip, it would be a wonderful vacation as I’ve worked hard to keep my family together and have always been the strong one supporting others and never get to relax.

This trip would not be for me. I cant remember when my sister took a vacation bc she simply cant afford it. Shes a giver and rarely does anything for herself. Currently she is trying to save money to have surgery for her beloved dog who has 2 torn acls. So As much as I would love to win this for me, this would be a once in a life time trip for her. Thank you for your consideration.

Just tonight when I was inspired to register for the O’bama Inauguration giveaway after hearing about it on Extra I realized what my 2009 resolution should be (Change). This stems from something my daughter said to me a very long time ago and I remember it very clearly, as if it were only yesterday. She said “Mom I hope you are never too old to learn to change and to grow with change”. I don’t think I will ever forget that and as a result I am finding myself posting yet another entry into a giveaway via the World Wide Web in hopes that I am picked. It would be a terrific opportunity and a most welcome change in my life.
