Beyoncé to Belt for Obama's First Dance

Superstar Beyoncé Knowles has been tapped to sing a song for Michelle and Barack Obama's first dance on the night of the inauguration.

The two-time Grammy nominee will take the stage at the official Neighborhood Ball in Washington D.C., along with her husband Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Sting, Faith Hill, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and Maroon 5.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee has remained tight-lipped about the melody that was chosen as the first dance for the 44th President and his First Lady. "It is our hope that we can keep the song secret until the moment," spokeswoman Linda Douglass told AP.

The Ball will also feature appearances by Hollywood's own Denzel Washington, Jessica Alba, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah and Kate Walsh, but the Inaugural Committee wants Americans to celebrate the historic inauguration on Main Street as well!

"We are encouraging people all around the country to have their own inaugural ball," explained Douglass. "All Americans are invited to take a moment and have a little party, and they'll be connected to the folks in Washington and the Neighborhood Ball through both broadcast and on the Internet."

The Neighborhood Ball will be televised on ABC. President-elect Barack Obama will take his presidential oath on January 20.

$335,000,000 FOR STD PREVENTION IN ECONOMIC STIMULUS BILL
Wed Jan 28 2009 09:58:30 ET

Democrats may have eliminated provisions on birth control and sod for the National Mall in the “job stimulus” — but buried on page 147 of the bill is stimulation for prevention of sexually transmitted diseases!

The House Democrats’ bill includes $335 million for sexually transmitted disease education and prevention programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

NEWS FLASH - Obama Bipartisan my b*tt!

“President Barack Obama got the $825 (or $1.2 trillion over a decade) stimulus package through the House of Representatives but the 244 to 188 vote is a hollow victory indeed. Without a single Republican voting for the bill, his high-profile visit to Capitol Hill on Tuesday came to exactly naught - at least on the House side.

Obama vowed to change Washington and usher in a new post-partisan era. The the mood music and optics were pitch perfect as he trekked up to the Hill. Republicans praised his gesture, welcomed his sincere demeanour and appreciated his willingness to listen.

Problem was, he wanted only to listen and did not want to act on what Republicans said. When he was asked if he would re-structure the package to include more tax cuts, he reportedly responded: “Feel free to whack me over the head because I probably will not compromise on that part.”

He apparently added: ” I understand that and I will watch you on Fox News and feel bad about myself.”

That’s fine. No doubt Obama will indeed get beaten up on Fox News. But his failure to get even the squishiest moderate Republican - including the 11 entertained in the White House by Rahm Emanuel last night - to back him is not merely a big score for Rep Eric Cantor, Republican Whip, and the rest of the GOP leadership….

The Democratic leadership on Capitol Hill badly miscalculated by treating the bill as a victor’s charter. Not that it seemed to bother Nancy Pelosi (WHO DOESN’T CARE ABOUT BI-PARTISANSHIP…IN THE LEAST!), Speaker of the House, who grinned from ear to ear as she announced the result of the vote.

Obama said yesterday he did not feel he had ownership of the bill (BULL!!!!). Be that as it may, if it goes through the Senate in similar fashion and is signed into law then - the efforts of Pelosio and Senator Harry Reid notwithstanding - it will be his and his alone.

THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT OBAMA IS NOT INTERESTED IN HEARING WHAT 48% OF THE US POPULATION THINKS. THIS IS A SPENDING BILL FOR DEMOCRATIC PET PROJECTS. DON’T BE DECEIVED PEOPLE…THIS MAN IS MAKING AND ENDORCING BAD DECISIONS.

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - President Barack Obama on Tuesday chose an Arabic satellite TV network for his first formal television interview as president, delivering a message to the Muslim world that “Americans are not your enemy.”

The interview underscored Obama’s commitment to repair relations with the Muslim world that have suffered under the previous administration.

The president expressed an intention to engage the Middle East immediately and his new envoy to the region, former Sen. George J. Mitchell, was expected to arrived in Egypt on Tuesday for a visit that will also take him to Israel, the West Bank, Jordan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

“My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy,” Obama told the Saudi-owned, Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel.

Obama said the U.S. had made mistakes in the past but “that the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there’s no reason why we can’t restore that.”

During his presidency, former President George W. Bush gave several interviews to Al-Arabiya but the wars he launched in Iraq and Afghanistan prompted a massive backlash against the U.S. in the Muslim world.

Al-Arabiya has scored interviews with top U.S. officials in the past, including Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

The Saudi-owned channel is seen by some in Washington as more balanced in its coverage than its Qatar-funded rival Al-Jazeera, which the previous White House administration complained had an anti-American bias.

Obama called for a new partnership with the Muslim world “based on mutual respect and mutual interest.” He talked about growing up in Indonesia, the Muslim world’s most populous nation, and noted that he has Muslim relatives.

The new president said he felt it was important to “get engaged right away” in the Middle East and had directed Mitchell to talk to “all the major parties involved.” His administration would craft an approach after that, he said in the interview.

“What I told him is start by listening, because all too often the United States starts by dictating,” Obama told the interviewer.

The president reiterated the U.S. commitment to Israel as an ally and to its right to defend itself. But he suggested that both Israel and the Palestinians have hard choices to make.

“I do believe that the moment is ripe for both sides to realize that the path that they are on is one that is not going to result in prosperity and security for their people,” he said, calling for a Palestinian state that is contiguous with internal freedom of movement and can trade with neighboring countries.

Obama also said that recent statements and messages issued by the al-Qaida terror network suggest they do not know how to deal with his new approach.

“They seem nervous,” he told the interviewer. “What that tells me is that their ideas are bankrupt.”

In his latest message on Jan. 14, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden said Obama had been left with a “heavy inheritance” of Bush’s wars.

Shortly after the election, the network’s number two, Ayman al-Zawahri used a demeaning racial term for a black American who does the bidding of whites to describe Obama.

The message suggested the terror network was worried Obama could undermine its rallying cry that the U.S. is an enemy oppressor. ————————————————————————————————————————————————MAYBE SOMETHING GOOD CAN COME OUT OF SOMETHING BAD, PRESIDENT DID SAY HE HAS MUSLIM RELATIVES. MAYBE THAT WILL BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND AMERICANS???????????

TELL ME WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE AND I WILL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE"
January 26, 2009

I’m still trying to figure out if there were any “white” entertainers whom performed at any of his several BALLS that night? Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, Kanye West…

The media has established that this was an “Historical Election”, and a “Historical moment”… What about the job as President? Is he “qualified”?? Does he have the time and knowledge invested to have the know-how to perform the duties as President?

Obama = three year Senator, Community Organizer.. Military time = Zero.. Exactly what has he done for his country…? (no not that one, this one).

McCain = 26 year Senator.. 23 years of Military experience, a 5 year POW…

Just comparing resumes made up my mind, …so why when I express discontent for our “President” do I become dubbed a racist? And, that said, if I am racist is it against his Black Father, or his White Mother?? (because the reality is, racism is a two way street).

Experience - matters
Associations (the company you keep) - Matters
History - matters

Apparently too many saw “color” and the opportunity to “make history”. Instead of doing the right thing….
