They should start wiht Taylor and replace him with Micheal as Jacob changes…sorry taylor you just don’t look 27 :O(

I dont care who plays Jacob but I will be pissed if they change the story line to include more Edward. You want more Edward fine show what he is doing without Bella do not make it so he never leaves.

I don’t really care who plays Jacob.. they both seem like good actors. Although, they should replace Bella. Kristen looks nothing like I imagined Bella to look like!

They need to hire an older actor to play Jacob Black for New Moon and beyond. If they keep Taylor just to please his fans, not only do they have to deal with the special effects for phasing, they also have to apply special effects simply for Taylor to be Jacob! If they go that direction it’s not going to look like Taylor anyway, and the portrayal will become a less human. That’s my opinion. Michael…or Steven Strait!

I have a teenage niece that will boycott the movie if Taylor Lautner does not play Jacob Black.

He’s an actor. Let him act. Give him a chance. He successfully established the character and they have to use CG for his transformation into a werewolf anyway. I read the books and there is no movie that I have ever seen that is exactly like the book.

Besides, I don’t know how an American Pie director will effectively translate a teenage girl movie? We’ll see. But, if he changes Lautner, they will really have a girl revolt on their hands. I know. I am the aunt of one!

Taylor only works for how Jacob was described in the “first” book.
He’s nowhere close to the description in the rest.
The loyalty should be to the character and not the actor.

Noah Watts has a kind of seriousness to his looks that doesn’t really seem like Jacob, imo, but he could certainly play one of the werewolves!
Here’s a thought. What if, unlikely I know, Taylor were to stay on as Seth? The book does say he looks quite a lot like “young Jacob.” Then we could have a more realistic “grown Jacob” and still satisfy Taylor fans.

Who else could play him? When I was reading “New moon” I pictured Тaylor in my mind!!! I can’t imagine the film without him and if Taylor is replace from “New moon” I won’t watch it!!! I’ll keep his image as Jacob in may minde!!!

I don’t really understand the threats not to see the movie if Taylor isn’t Jacob. Can it not be enough to say he was the “Young Jacob in Twilight” and leave it there? Does it have to be a case of hating on the “Older Jacob” actor if one is to take up the role for New Moon?
Taylor did fine in his very few scenes, but he simply doesn’t fit the character going forward. Sorry. I just don’t get it. I vote Michael-or Steven Strait.
