TAYLOR is the most PERFECT person for all of the Twilight books (: You can’t just change the person you used for Twilight & then move on to someone else, that’s pretty hard for the fans to take (LIKE ME!!!)

He’ll probably look older by the time Breaking Dawn comes… but he’s PREFECT for New Moon.

I prefer taylor than Micheal. The latter looks gayish..or if they really have to change the actor..I think the guy from 10000 BC would fit best as JAcob Black!

I think Michael is at least as dark, and his hair, eyes, and age are right on. His height is also much closer since he’s over 6’. Even the first time Bella sees Jacob in New Moon she’s amazed at how Jacob is so much taller. And the entire Jacob role after changing has him looking way older than his actual age. It’s normal in movies, when you have a story with a character that ages, to have one actor play the young part and then another playing the next phase-no pun intended. :-)

Okay i really think Taylor should play jacob black for new moon. i mean he look perfect in his role in twilight.
& hes suposse to be really dark skinned and micheal is not as dark as taylor. & plus for a very good part of the book jacob is stil 16 lookin kid and then he grows but im sure some working out will help that. so taylor is perfect for the role!

You would be crazy to change a character after he’s all ready played in one movie…and sure maybe he’s a LITTLE young but everyone loves him already and the bond he shares not only with Kristen but with Bella is extrodinary….and plus Micheal looks way to old to play the part. And also in the twilight book they say that Jacob is a couple years younger than Bella. And twilight may lose fans in taylors leaving!!!! So…

Steven Strait wasn’t age appropriate for Twilight. Jacob was a cute 16 in Twilight-perfect for Taylor. Now, in New Moon, Jacob has matured, and Steven Strait or Michael Copon-or some other gorgeous 20something male is the appropriate choice.
To say “Twilight fans want Taylor” is a hugely broad statement. Some do, certainly, but some, who really want to see the movie depicted like the book, don’t.

The majority of fans want to taylor to stay, don’t burn the fans. New Moon is not like Scorpion King or cheerleading movies,it isn’t epic warrior it’s a romance and Steven Strait does not want to do teen movies period, so people need to let the dream go because if he wanted it, he would have been it Twilight.

taylor just doesnt fit the role and isnt ready for the part. i think michael and kristen are both great actors and will have great chemistry together. even though some die hard fans dont want to let go of taylor, they have to realize that michael will be able to bring new moon to life much better.

Michael or Steven should get the role.

Jacob was born younger than Bella, but aged almost a decade beyond her.
It’s not unreasonable to recast when the character changes. When Jacob looks like a baby-faced 16 year old it would be unreasonable to have him played by a 26 year old. And when he ages to mid twenties it’s unreasonable to have him played by someone in their mid teens.
I vote for someone who fits the role please!

I read somewhere that SM pictured Steven Strait as the older Jacob.
I don’t get the “Twilight fans must be for Taylor” idea. It’s not a case of being anti-Taylor in any way. If you read Twilight before seeing the movie, as I did, it’s simply plain that Jacob starts off looking Taylor’s age and quickly (as per important plot point) ages a decade in New Moon. It’s just the way the book series is written. So-good job Taylor as young Jacob in Twilight the movie. Now it’s time to cast someone who is suitable for the rest, as seen in the book.
