I agree with allieknowstwilight. She is right on. Check out Scorpion King Two and you will drop Taylor and ask him to return as Seth Clearwater.

Come on now! If you really love the books, you have to realize that Jacob makes a huge change physically in the eight months from the prom in book 1 until Bella turns up with the motorcycles in book 2. Bella barely recognizes him. There wasn’t much chemistry between Taylor & Kristen to me. Taylor did a great job in book 1, but I think the role is just too much for him from book 2 on. I think Taylor would have made the perfect Seth Clearwater. Watch The Scorpion King 2, and give Michael Copon a chance. He’s got my vote!

Summit are stupid for even considering replacing Taylor. Obviously their prime concern is money - so if they had any brains they would not get rid of an actor with a HUGE fanbase!
Also since apparentely they are having a hard time finding native american actors to play the rest of the cast, why would theY replace a perfectly good leading star, they’re only making it harder for themselves & if Taylor is too small to play Jacob why aren’t they finding replacements for the guy who plays embry, he looks about the same age and height as Taylor which means they would have to replace him as well since he too turns into a werewolf - basically they should save themselves all the trouble of replacing perfectly good actors, take their fingers outta their arses stop being cheapskates and use special effects - DON’T REPLACE ANYONE.

Taylor is a really nice guy, but not the right actor for Jacob. I hope that the huge teen fanbase for him doesn’t affect the casting of this movie.

Michael Copon is too old for the role, he looks too old to, he can’t play a role were he is suppose to be 16, it will look so stupid and weird. Taylor is the perfect guy!

When I first heard about them thinking of replacing Taylor I thought they were nuts, but then I read why they were thinking about it. Yeah Jacob starts out a 16 y/o looking like a 16 y/o but he matures quite fast and he is suppose to end up 16 y/o looking like a 26 y/o. I really don’t see how taylor can pull that off. I just think people need to remember that maybe what worked in the 3 or 4 scenes he was in in the first movie might not work with how much on screen time and more in depth he will have to be in the next.

Steven Strait should play Jacob

Taylor Lautner is Jacob. Did they not think of the sequels when they did casting for Twilight? And if they did, why would they cast Taylor and then get rid of him?! He deserves the role, and besides, Jacob is supposed to be younger. He doesn’t just appear 20-some years old one day; its a gradual change. They can’t do this with visual effects?? Taylor Lautner is the perfect Jacob and they SHOULDN’T replace him

I can’t believe those in power of production would even THINK of replacing Taylor for the part of Jacob…all the fans who LOVE the movie love it because of the actors who played the parts..would you replace Edward if he looked older than 17?? I think NOT! If makeup can ‘age’ an actor 30 or 40 years in some movies…why can’t they ‘age’ Taylor 3 or 4 years??? The movie will lose that special chemistry between the 3 in the love triangle…be smart..trust the fans!!!

if i have to choose from these 2, definitely Michael Copon. from the female perspective (i’m 30) Taylor is sooo sweet but not right as the ever-growing Jacob that Bella starts to see in a different attractive light. BUT…even Michael isn’t quite right. Ms. Meyer’s description is dead on with Steven Strait!

I loved Taylor as Jacob! He was natural and very charming BUT I do think that an older actor needs to play Jacob in New Moon. Michael is gorgeous and they look very similar…it would be a smart casting move.
