Simon: Brit is 'Back on Top'

Restored pop princess Britney Spears performed on "The X Factor" Saturday night, helping the UK series nab its biggest ratings ever -- and only "Extra's" Terri Seymour was behind the scenes with judge Simon Cowell, who praised Brit's performance, saying, "A star is a star is a star. Incredible. She's back on top."

Cowell added, "This girl's got huge star quality... You've got to hand it to her. She's a great performer." And how would he rate her? "Britney's back... 9.5 (out of 10)!"

When asked how Cowell managed to book Spears on "The X Factor", he explained, "We got a phone call, 'Do you want Britney on the show?' Let me think about that, 'Yes.' And that was it." Even Cowell couldn't believe the paparazzi frenzy surrounding Spears' appearance. "That's the price you pay for being a star. Her pictures are worth a fortune."

Cowell also revealed that Mariah Carey and Beyoncé are scheduled to appear on "The X Factor." He said, "I love Mariah. She's a big star. She was fun. The contestants were in awe. We also have Beyoncé coming on for the finals."

Plus, Cowell commented on next season's "American Idol" saying, "I'm 100% a guy will win this year." As for new judge Kara DioGuardi? "She's mouthy, this girl. I'm beginning to warm to her... I think she knows what she's talking about."

C’mon give Britney a break!!! She’s been thru a lot…she’s trying her best!!! she just needs to get back her full confidence because from the way she moves on stage..she looks like she’s holding back..maybe because of that “traumatic” experience at the VMA Awards..the unkind press & naysayers all trying to put her down…TIME FOR A COMEBACK, BRITNEY!!! YOU STILL HAVE YOUR AVID FANS READY TO SUPPORT YOU AS ALWAYS!!!

The girl barely opened her mouth, and it’s not really her fault, because there’s not much to sing in that song at all.

I really do not get how ppl keep saying that she sucked. Just because she lip synced? Are you serious? This is nothing new to us Britney fans. Britney always lip sync and we have no problems with it because she needs to dance and Britney was never labeled as a singer, she’s a performer. Not saying thats he can’t sing because when she sings, she really sings but she’s a performer so she needs to dance and and like she said, dancing if her life. And if she would have sung live, you all still wouldn’t have appreciated it away because ppl who aren’t Britney fans only remember the bad and never to good. When she does good, you guys are like “it was nice, but it was not perfect” but instead she lip synced so your like “she sucked” and you all say horrible things about her. You’re not a Britney Spears fans so you don’t matter because you’re not buying her albums and voting for her when it comes down to it. We matter, not you, nor TMZ or Perez Hilton, no one else matter but Britney’s family, her management and her fans.
