People can say what they want about the headline but it did what it was designed to do. You clicked the link -probably from Google News- to check out the article. That makes it a good headline.

The fact that some people bothered to comment on the forum makes it a great headline.

There is nothing wrong with a GED. Most kids that graduate from high school today can’t pass the test. Children that are home schooled need to pass it to get a State high school diploma. It is for children (and adults) who could not make it through traditional high school. If gives them another opportunity. You need one to get 99 percent of jobs. You can enter college with one. Non-traditional students can use it to continue past their mistakes and/or hardships. So don’t put down the GED. My child is on course to graduate from college (with honors) after receiving a GED 1 year post dropping out of high school. I didnt’ throw her away because she couldn’t make it the traditional way. It’s not what kind of high school diploma you get; but what you do with it afterwards.

Ok, I have to admit the headline is really in poor taste…but I find it rather interesting the baby’s grandmother was arrested (although inappropriate for this article). This looks good for Palin in 2010 - lol! I can just hear it now “my daughter’s boyfriend’s mother does not have anything to do with my candidacy for president…I’m sure all soccer mom’s will agree with me.”
