Oprah on the Palin Rumors

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is setting the record straight regarding rumors that Sarah Palin wasn't invited as a guest on her talk show.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over," Oprah reveals to "Extra." "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta Van Susteren. She talked to Matt Lauer. She talked to Larry King, but she didn't talk to me. But maybe she'll talk to me now that she has a book deal."

Lady O's couches are always ready for President-elect Barack Obama and wife Michelle. "There's always an open invitation for the President-elect and First Lady."

Winfrey served as an honorary chair at Alvin Ailey's Dance Theatre's 50th anniversary celebration -- and kidded with "Extra" about having two left feet! "In my wildest, wildest, crazy, crazy dreams, I am a dancer," O joked. "When I've like had too many tequila shots and I go to sleep, I dream of being a dancer."

Things took a serious turn when Oprah opened up about the wildfires that devastated homes in Santa Barbara also threatened to take her Montecito home. Winfrey was evacuated -- and told "Extra" she grabbed a book of letters from Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and the ladies that attended her Legends Ball. "So when the fires were coming and the flames were a blowin', I said, 'Get my letters!'"

Could it be that Oprah might not be as friendly territory as Greta? Absolutely!

Greta fawned all over Sarah like someone who had a secret wish to be…..

Oprah..in a very pleasant way would have peeled back the ‘you betcha’ facade to expose a meglomanic.

Oprah…Didn’t get where she is without ‘game.’

why should sarah go? she’s not running for office anymore. hmm… she talked to greta, matt and larry because they are actual journalists. oprah should stick with talking to tom cruise and will smith. if oprah is supposedly the ratings queen she shouldn’t need palin to boost them higher. if someone was totally anti-me, i wouldn’t put myself through the torture of purposely designed humiliation on their part. and how conceited can a woman be? palin is supposed to go on oprah’s time schedule?! lol. get over yourself oprah. this woman doesn’t have time for your pridefil pettiness. she’s running a state not a couch and a book club.

Good for you Sarah Palin. As a woman you lead the way to political success and as a mother you are an outstanding and devoted to your family. You do not need her to boost your ratings. Oprah’s pride is getting bigger than her boops! I have stopped watching her shows a long time ago. She fawns to most of her guests and her audience seem like in a hysterical trance espcially when goodies are being dished out. It seems all so freaky.

Sarah Palin is a national joke and an opportunist. She has not proven why she is a GOP star other than be able to read from a script and smile broadly. Yet, right wing Republicans think she’s the mesiah. Give me a break, Obama at least is intelligent!

As for Oprah, she is a role model and someone to be respected with her accomplishments and kindness!

Oprah is so yesterday. All of the strong, confident women I know stopped watching Oprah years ago. Sarah Palin doesn’t need Oprah. If Palin gets her book deal, that book will be a huge seller regardless of whether or not she appears on Oprah’s show. Oprah blew her chance to get Sarah on before the election. Oprah says she didn’t want to use her show to promote any of the candidates, but that is such a crock. Oprah’s used her celebrity (to the extent she still has any) to help get Obama elected; having Palin on her show would have leveled the playing field, not give Palin any sort of advantage. Now that Oprah has no reason to fear that Palin can hurt Obama’s chances to win the presidency, Oprah wants Sarah’s celebrity to use on her show. However, there is no longer any reason for Palin to grace O’s show, and there is no reason Palin would have gone on Oprah’s show before she did anyone else’s. Oprah’s snide comments just make her look like a whiner.

Message to Oprah: get over yourself already. People are starting to seriously dislike you.

Also, why would Sarah want to push her book on a show that is filled with viewers that drink the Obama Kool-Aid and hate her? Actually, I think they’re all afraid of her.

Sarah has more class than to lower herself to Oprah’s level. Why would she want to help someone like Oprah get ratings when Oprah did nothing but nasty things to Sarah? Oprah is anti-male, anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-military. The only thing she is ‘pro’ about is her ‘Messiah’… The Obama. What a joke!

Oprah needs to let it go! Who wants to hear from Caribou Barbie anyway? She was past her expiration date a week after the Republican Convention. And Palin has a book deal? Why? We were all here for the reality show, and Sarah was voted off the island. She needs to hitch up that dogsled and mush it on back to Alaska so she can watch Russia from her house!

Oprah should have more people she doesn’t agree with on her show to show she is fair and balanced.

Such as,

Jerimiah Wright
Al Sharpton
T.D. Jakes
Jesse Jackson Sr. and Jr.
Luis Palau
Franklin Graham
John Hagee
Joel Olsteen
Rick Warren

or

Juanita Bryrum
Paula White
Joyce Meyer
Beth Moore

I challenge Oprah to have these individuals on her show. Each has their own view based on the Bible and their personal relationship with Jesus Christ which despite what Oprah believes is still relevant to the Christian believers of our nations.

We’ll see…

I think Sarah can pick and choose who she wants to speak with. Oprah didn’t want her before- why now?
Not being on the Oprah show is NOT the end of the world. You Rock, Sarah!!!

As most of you know guys usually arn’t the biggest Oprah fans anyway, but if I did watch Oprah I would stop because she abused her media power and swayed the voters toward Obama because she judged Obama based on the color of his skin. She would not be fair to John McCain or Sarah Palin even though their character was of the highest contents.

No, Sarah should not go on Oprah’s show. If Oprah didn’t want to talk to Sarah before the election, why now? Personally, I haven’t watched Oprah in years and don’t know of anyone in my circle who does. Oprah can’t hold my interest and I just don’t like her.

Greta, thanks for treating Sarah with such respect. I now watch you every night b/c of how you treated Sarah Palin. I know you’re very liberal but you are soooo fair. Oprah could learn from you.

I stopped watching Oprah years ago. Don’t we have enough impoverished children right here in America to help instead of opening schools in Africa?

Why would she go on Oprah first? It seems awful pompus of Oprah to think that her show holds presidence over other show that actually supported palin.

Wake up oprah its not all about you!

If I was Sarah, I wouldn’t go on Oprah unless I had that book deal! Why would she want to? She didn’t want her BEFORE the election…oh, afterwards when Palin is the most sought after guest, she invites her on. Palin is a ratings nabber. Ya, people like to say they don’t watch her, but she undeniably fascinating or her critics wouldn’t be so concerned with her every move and keep tuning in.

You love to love her or you love to hate her…and those who hate her are giving her a career boost whether they realize it or not.

Sarah’s smarter than y’all all think…she’s got this shiz down. Book deal…interviews out the wazoo…if politics goes by the wayside, she can easily slip into entertainment. Either way, she’s a winner.

Some of you Sarah Palin lover’s must have gotten your education in an out house. The USA might be ready for a woman Vice President but the World was not, especially one whose intellect seem to be inanimate. Not every country views their women as equals as we do. Some of you make comments of Oprah being racist but your ignorance is obvious. Oprah is the first known black woman Billionaire. She did not just support Obama because he was black. If you go back 5 years and see Oprahs appearances you will see the Obama’s with her. They were friends first. How many of you would not support a friend. She risked a lot to show her support. Oprah is aware of the power of her show. She knows it propels the careers of the known and unknown. The View,Bill Mahr and McCafferty Files went beyond Oprah and no one says a word. Stop looking at Palin’s looks. Go to you tube , pull up Palin interviews, close your eyes and listen. If she was a teacher could you see this woman teaching your kids. Everything that looks good is not always good. Look at the faces of the interviewers. They are frowning for a reason. The United States is powerful and Obama’s victory was not only a US victory but a victory for the world. That is why the world celebrated. Stop using the word “racism” litely. Oprah did not support Obama because he is black but because he represented change and hope for a generation of young black men and women who were told they could never strive for the highest position in the world. But of course for the already priviledged, you will never understand that concept.

Sarah will do just fine talking to all the others. Sarah did not want to go on the Oprah show, why? If someone is promoting the opposite, why bother. Sarah has the most annoying voice. She needs to re-do the Katie Couric interview.
