why don’t they just have kristen pick jacob…she was the reason why robert got the part, was it not?

since jacob black is said to be native american in the twilight series, only a native american actor should be given the role!! how typically “hollywood” for them to think they can just have any dark eyed, dark haired actor for the part! it’s not like there’s a shortage of talented native american artists out there that can do a heck of a job!!!

Taylor should so stay as jacob he is clearly working out and he is so hot! michael wat ever is nothing compared to him! you will really be sorry if you change him you will loose so many fans!

ok twilight fans here goes a few factoids. steven strait was indeed on the cover of stephenie meyers early editions of eclipse and she did mention that it was her preferred actor for jacob. steven strait is not 30, he was born in 1986 which makes him 22! and he is naturally a whopping 6ft 1in. gosh, kinda close isnt it??? lastly, hes married to lynne collins who is noted for her role in THE MERCHANTS OF VENICE (reference to Breaking Dawn)hmmmmmm……

I agree with trish on the fact that yes in the other 3 books of the saga jacob is described as looking older due to the changes that are going on. If the new director tries to stay true to the way twilight was filmed having taylor ar jb would be hard if they had to do too much cg work to make him look older. It’s hard to say who would be better as an older jacob but yeah Steven Strait might work but question is which of the two new guys if one were to replace taylor would look better with the long hair for the time they would need it for nm? The only other thing i have to say is who would you trish, have picked to play bella then if kristen didn’t do a great job in your opinion?

Michael Copon would be a horrible Jacob. Taylor Lautner did an awesome job as the young Jacob! Steven Strait fits the description of the older Jacob much better! Stephenie Meyer even used his pictures on one of her earlier book covers of eclipse! (the caption: was her preferred actor for jacob!!!)Use taylor and steven.

rachel —Obviously, I was just trying to humor d “Taylor Lautner FanClub” for even including Taylor’s name …But it’s almost guaranteed that Taylor will be a goner cuz he is a minor and by law, is not allowed to work over 5hrs/day. If you were the “smart” director would you hire him if your fast tracking the movie - I think not. Michael and Steven are the only characters that make sense to me.

No Michael Copon would not be the perfect jacob.Lautner is perfect for the part of jacob.But if i had to choice another actor to be Jacob it would have to be Steven Strait he would be the perfect one to portrait the character Jacob black.

It doesn’t matter anyone’s opinion… they introduced Taylor as Jacob Black and the little air time he received in Twilight was a large impact to the upcoming character for the New Moon movie..or for all the movies in that matter…It’s a done deal Taylor is Jacob Black… to change his face and character ruins it for me.. I won’t even spend my money…Not to mention he deserves the part… Nobody…no matter how cute they are can take his place… what is done is done… use visuals for goodness sake..a good director knows this that once you introduce a character to be successful it must be consisitent… just think if they would have changed the character of Harry Potter in the middle of the movies… I DON’T THINK SO…. Hes too young, we all knew it wasnt going to last… unless they give the poor kid steroids. But we have some time still, he doesnt get a foot taller than edward till the last or second last book. He has to keep growing everytime she sees him. I think they should keep Taylor for the next one and upgrade to this other dude for the next ones! Yes, perfect solution!
