Lautner Battles for 'New Moon'

Is Taylor Lautner trying to save his role of Jacob Black in the upcoming "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon"?



That's true! "Extra" caught up with the baby-faced actor at the Golden Globes Young Hollywood party last night, where he broke news about an upcoming meeting with "New Moon" director Christ Weitz. While Lautner expressed excitement about meeting with the director, he confirmed that none of the sequel cast is set.

Taylor also put co-star Ashley Greene on the spot, via "Extra's" celeb degrees! When Lautner asked the brunette beauty if she were on team Edward or team Jacob, Ashley said, "Right now I'm gonna be on Team Jacob because I'm really, really rooting that you stay and that you play Jacob in the second one."

"New Moon" creeps in to theatres in late 2009.

OMg I s0 hate the fact that pe0ple are making a huge fuss because taylor is getting fired! IT happens all the time with any other movie, get over it! The role of Jacob in new moon isn’t a scrawny kid like taylor lautner… jacob is supposed to be big, tall, and muscular!

they should not replace taylor. he is the perfect jacob and every true twilight fan thinks so. it would be very disappointing to have a new person. yeah michael or whatever his name is , is really good looking but i mean come on he was in bring it on i mean he sucked. hi sacting is so horrible and they want to trade taylor for that…ummm noooo!!!!!
yeah a lot of people didn’t really like taylors performance but he didn’t have to many parts where he could really show what he can bring to the table and if they leave him im sure he can prove people wrong and show them what he can do.

Summit WILL and SHOULD replace TAYLOR! First, Stephanie’s major concern is for them to be FAITHFUL to the book. Let’s face it, keeping Taylor is not being true to the book(if you really read the book). Secondly, Taylor is 16yo! It means, he is not allowed to work more than 5hrs/day. I dont think it’s a smart move to rehire him if they are fast tracking the movie..complications eh? Yeah, Taylor was excellent in Twilight —all 5mins of it.

For those fans who are threatening to not NEW MOON if Taylor is not in it. GOOD RIDDANCE! Im sure the New Jacob Black will bring aboard much mature and nice fans. Unlike, the Taylor fans who does nothing but embarass the Twilight Fandom with their immature whinnings and threats on blogposts everywhere.

This is like the “Robert Pattinson casting petition” all over again. But Rob’s was a much bigger petition. But did summit listened to them? Nope, and boy was I glad!

I dont honestly care who plays Jacob. As long as he looks the same as in thr first movie.

In my mind, I picture him anyways, not some darker, taller guy. That would just comepletly kill it, in my opinion.

Please keep him, even if I dont care who plays in it.

I want to see him in high heels or stilts to make him taller. You guys have to remember they can just do that if they had a bigger budget…

And he was supposed to be as short as Bella for about half of it!!

PLEASE, REPLACE HIM WITH ANYONE ELSE!! i could not watch the scenes in twilight that he played in. i had to cover my eyes. he isn’t the way i pictured jacob at all, and if he is cast as jacob in new moon, i will consider not seeing it.

About the whole changing Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black thing, I think it is completely stupid. Taylor Lautner is a perfect Jacob and everyone already pictures him as Jacob now from the first movie. They CAN NOT change the cast. I disagree with Robert Pattinson playing Edward but I still do not want them to change who plays Edward in the second movie because changing people in a series is just stupid. It’s like changing Jacob’s name from the first book to Dan in the second book. The first movie in my opinion wasn’t that great and they didn’t stick to the book. They put a whole scene in that wasn’t in the book.
So why are they so worried that Taylor doesn’t look old enough and is to short to play Jacob in the second one? They made a lot of money when it came out but a lot of people (the fans) didn’t care for it, and now the fans are telling them not to change who plays the roll of Jacob Black in New Moon and some even say if they do take Taylor Lautner out they will not go see the movie. They should listen to the fans or they are not making the movie for anyone other than themselves and they are leaving out the opinions of the people they are actually supposed to be making it for.
Taylor Lautner is working extremely hard to keep his part as Jacob Black and I think he deserves to keep the part. If they would just listen to the people most of them agree with me too. It’s not like we don’t know that the movie isn’t going to be as good as the book we know that can’t happen but if you are changing things in it and leaving a lot out it’s not a movie based on a book it’s just a movie with the same name as a book. So for once make a movie that doesn’t revolve around how much money can we save but make a good movie that millions of people are going to see because it’s based on a good book that for most people is one of their favorites.

Taylor is cute and so on, but I believe we need a hot and strong werewolf to compete with Edward in the movie, New Moon. Then, it would make the movie intense, and your aching for who Bella is going to be with! Let’s see, one CUTE werewolf and stud vampire or one HOT werewolf and stud vampire? I’m not saying Taylor is not cute, just not into the baby face. You choose!

Taylor Lautner is too young to play that role. The character Jacob has to be played by someone who is older and could be a competition for the Edward character. A romantic angle has to be really established between Bella and Jacob and that is just not possible with Taylor. They look more like friends than on-the-verge-lovers. There wouldn’t be enough excitement. When I was reading the books, I had Lautner in mind all the time for that character and there was no spark at all. I was bored with the parts where Jacob was featured.

they should keep taylor.. it’s not right to cast someone and then switch em just because someone is more established. taylor would be amazing in new moon. their fears of him not being good enough to play that big of a role is stupid. i mean come on. you need to keep taylor.. too annoying to have to get used to a new face.
