Yes, he’s supposed to look like he’s 25, but they have make-up for that! If they replace Taylor then, they ruin the movie! Replacing an important charecter, because they dont look old enough, then they should have thought about it before they cast him. Taylor can gain weight all he wants but he’s not going to grow taller or look older then sixteen by the time they start filming in March. Jacob is supposed to be huge. Like friggin’ giant. Taller then Edward, even. He’s supposed to be closer to Emmett’s size (Bigger then Emmett, actually). There is only so much they can do to make Taylor Lautner look taller.

Okay so im pretty sure none of the characters are perfectly the same as the book. This is ridiculousss! Jacob isnt even that big until like Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Taylor definitlyy deserves to play Jacob, he’s been working very hard and has already gained 19 pounds. Michael Copon is nottt cute and has none of the characteristics that Jacob has. It might just be me, but Michael looks frigggin asian!!! He is NOT Jacob. I have total and complete faith in Taylor Lautner. They act like a foot in height is such an impossible thing to fix, like really? This is the 21st century.

But basically, the cast wants Taylor, the fans obviously want Taylor.

Wow…some fans are really dead set on Taylor coming back. I would prefer someone else, even Michael to play the older Jacob. If anyone remembers, “fans” were all furious when announcements that Robert Pattinson got the lead role and was calling him “ugly”. Even his mom was hurt at all the negative comments and look what happened now. Some of these comments are ridiculous when you say that people are not going to go watch it if Taylor isn’t in it. Alright then, if you don’t go watch it, I’m sure the 10 million other fans will go. He’s only 16 and weighs around 140lbs?? What is he suppose to do, where 6 inch high shoes all day to be the new Jacob? Also true, he can only work 5hrs a day since he’s still a kid. TRUE fans are also complaining that Twilight wasn’t close enough to the book. Well, in New Moon, Jacob is suppose to be taller then Edward. Taylor is around 5’6 and Robert is 6’1 and Kristen probably feels uncomfortable kissing a 16 years old as well. Give it a break and let them cast the right character that will follow the book. Many movie series have replaced main characters and Jacob really only had 3-4 scenes in Twilight anyways. I like Vampcrazy’s idea though…

I showed my sister a photo of Taylor the other day and asked how old she thought he was and she said he looks early 20’s. He does not look his age, so he can definitely pull it off.

More importantly Taylor’s smile positively lights up the screen. I’m not a groupie that thinks I’m in love with him or anything but I can easily see how Taylor can fall into playing Bella’s “sun.”

As for Michael Copon’s comment that Taylor’s portrayal in Twilight was somewhat one-dimensional, I thought Taylor did a good job and played his role a lot better than some others in the film!

With the height and weight factor, there’s easy ways that it can be manipulated on film - look at Lord of the Rings with Gandalf vs Frodo. Where there’s a will there’s a way!

I just finished reading New Moon and I could only picture Taylor Lautners face as Jacob. TL was perfect in Twilight as Jacob. Don’t replace him!!! I wont want to see it.
