I am totally team Edward. Cause Michael Copon is totally hot and he could totally play a older Jacob and isn’t that the point after all. You can teach people to act after all. He looks like an older version of Taylor laughtner. So it wouldn’t totally be a loss.

They should keep Taylor as Jacob because he fits Jacob perfectly, Taylor was made for that role! Of course Jacob may be different in New Moon than he was in Twilight. Even though, If they keep Taylor he wouldnt fit the description of Jacob,but if they recasted him it could ruin Jacob’s entire role because of Jacob’s special personality.I hated reading until my friend FORCED me to read the twilight books and i just love jacob’s character.I would be really mad if they got rid of taylor and no matter how much i would want to see the rest of the movies i WILL NOT go see them…

You people who do not like Taylor are absolutely NUTS! I mean not only is he a total hottie, but also for his age he is very mature. My opinion is that he can handle anything. Taylor SHOULD NOT be cast as Jacob for New Moon. He is totally unsuitable.

It would do the book NO justice whatsoever and it would be a bad risk for Summit.

Why would they have to go through all the trouble and costs with special effects when they can cast an appropriate and suitable actor who can actually ACT (yes, I am saying Taylor can’t act. At least as Jacob) for the role? It would not be worth it.

Twilight the movie was a HUGE hit. Summit shouldn’t be stupid and not cast the most suitable actors in order to continue their success. It’s business. And casting Taylor would be a dangerous decision.

And besides, he’s underage. Wouldn’t it be trouble for Summit to film? I mean, with limited work hours from Taylor but a set release date for the movie. So what would that mean? Rushed attempts and mediocre acting?

If this wasn’t personal then a majority of the fans would not be upset, it became personal when their attempt to throw Taylor under the bus leaked to the fandom. The twihards know he is dedicated to the series and is a fan of the series, he did this movie for the fans while Copon wants to cliff notes this to his resume since he knows all of Jacob’s colors and there isn’t even thirty percent on the recast bandwagon which Copon ain’t winning nobody over regardelss how this ends.

Okay Anonymouses below me. Fine I’ve read the book 43 times. No joke. I’ve been a fan since 2005. But what if they decided to change Ashley Greene because her hair isn’t black? It’s brown. But there’s no conflict there right? And we all love Taylor and Ashley! They are super nice in real life and it would ruin the movie if they took Taylor out! Who cares if he’s not tall enough! In Twilight he was about the same size as Sam! Remember the dude he was with near the van at the beach? I bet you don’t remember SAM says that cuz you probably didn’t read the book! This is a business decision not a personal decision. The book makes it clear that Jacob looks to be 22 years old in New Moon. Steven Strait would be the perfect Jacob - if the movie sticks to the feel of the book.

Im all for keeping taylor.. The thing is is that it wouldn’t be such a big deal if he hadnt of done such an amazing job as jacob in twilight! I was reading a comment above and as they said, he brightens up the screen. I really think that summit should have thought it through in the first movie, they knew that he would need to be bigger for the rest of them and they should have taken that into consideration before. Please keep taylor!
