Bush Gets the Boot at Press Conference

During a press conference in Baghdad, President George W. Bush was nearly pelted in the head by a shoe thrown by an Iraqi reporter!

The man -- who called the Commander-in-Chief a "dog" in Arabic -- was yanked out of the room by U.S. Secret Service agents, while Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki moved forward with the conference.

"It doesn't bother me," George W. told the crowd. When asked about the incident later, Bush told AP, "I didn't feel the least threatened by it."

Other journalists in the conference room apologized on behalf of their colleague. The prez arrived in Baghdad over the weekend for his final visit before handing the reins over to Barack Obama in January.

President Bush has a good sense of humour. He took it well. Thank God it was only shoes and not bullets. That would not be a good thing at all. I am happy he is ok.

i wonder when this sort of thing happens to our new president elect, how many people will be making the same comments in laughter? And more-so, how many will actually be offended by those remarks..

this is our nations current President! it’s truly not funny at all. it’s disrepectful, and disgraceful.

I think the President took it all in stride. And handled himself rather well. It’s those that are supposed to be looking after the President that dropped the ball here!!

I know the man was distraught because he had lost several people he knew, but this is the thanks we get for giving these people freedom? Perhaps some believe we should have left a looney dictator in charge and continued to “wonder” rather or not he had nuclear capabilities?? I for one am more comfortable knowing what I know now. As opposed to the alternative.

Shouldn’t PETA actvivsists in turn be throwing flour at the guy for owning - yuck - leather shoes, treating the animal that died for them so disrespectfully? So, uh, Death to Iraq, and stuff.

To add further insult, the noble hurler should’ve used his in the Arab world “unclean” left hand, you know, the one they wipe their privvies with?

huh
