VOTE: The Next First Pet?

The Clintons' pup Buddy was a chocolate lab, and they also had Socks the cat. George and Laura Bush have a Scottish terrier named Miss Beazley and Nancy Reagan loved her King Charles Cavalier spaniel, Rex.

What kind of dog should the Obamas bring with them to the White House?

We vote a Labradoodle. My little girl Brooke wanted a dog so I took her to the pound in 2007 she picked out a very sad and scared Labradoodle. We never heard of that breed before. We named him Bruce. He is the most sweet and loveing dog ever. He is AWSOME!!!!

Golden Retrievers are wonderful with children of all ages! I would suggest 2 from the same litter. I have NEVER had a problem with my daughter (7) or any other child around our 4 year old Golden’s!

If they are looking for a midsize, friendly, warm loving dog that is hypoallergenic and doesn’t shed, a Wheaton Terrier is definately the perfect choice. A very smart dog as well and fairly easy to train. I would recommend a female and adopt a puppy if able as they are the most adorable pups and grow into a wonderful addition to the family.

A shelter or rescue dog…NOT from a breeder.

I am thinking relations with the Middle East could be improved with an afgan hound, although I am personally offended by Obama rejecting a “yappy, girly” dog….As a chihuahua owner, I have to vote for them as one of the most intelligent breeds, and as a breed that knows exactly what their owners need.

I think an AZAWAKH would be a great choice! It is a desert hound, very rare breed from Africa! It is unusual, rare and absolutely exquisite.

A pomeranian would not be a good choice because they typically bond to just one person. I have a pom and a pug and the pug probably woulnt be the best choice either. They shed alot.

They should get a goldendoodle, they are hypoallergenic & don’t shed, & are a people dog. Friendly to everyone & all kids.

Ithink they should get a french poodle, solid white and name him Pierre,
that would be the most lovable and adorablest dog for the new first family,
because those dogs are loyale also, and they love children, and their owners.

I strongly recommend the Westy “West Highland Terrier”. The children would love a westy, and for you Mr. President he would be your constant shadow as well. They are excellent dogs, and being a democrat, and fact that I have had two westies, and about to get a third one, I would really like for your children and the Mrs. to look at this beautiful terrier. They travel very well, and are very clean. Check it out. You could call him “Westy”

I used to have 3 pomerianians and they shed and leave hair everywhere.Sure their cute ,but they are alot of work. They also have a temper at times and like to nip at people if they don’t like them.I don’t recomend one for the White House.

I have to put in my two cents.I would love to see a maltese in the White House,They also are hypoallergenic, they don’t shed,or have any kid of smell. They are very affectionate, and smart.I got one because my grandson is very allergic, and now he can play with this dog and he loves it!You can teach them tricks very fast and also to urinate on command how cool is that! They love to cuddle and are a true lap dog.

The Obamas should get a standard poodle. And they should not give the dog a fancy haircut - a “puppy cut” is much nicer and makes the dog look normal (not like in the dog shows). Also, bigger dogs have better temperments and are good with children.

I believe THE SCHNOODLE (poodle X schnauser) is a PERFECT CHOICE for the Obama Family. Besides being a non shedding, hypoallergenic breed, they have NO offensive DOGGIE SMELL, are incredibly charming, cute (and/or) handsome, VERY INTELLIGENT, and are LOVING, loyal family companions.
If those qualities alone wern’t enough, the fact that they come in MINIATURE, MEDIUM and LARGE sizes, and a range of COLORS, and their hair can be left long and a little poodley looking (for the CUTE fluffy look) or trimmed to sport a smart schnauser type (classic HANDSOME) look, should be a deal cincher. The SCHNOODLE is truly THE PERFECT mixed breed dog for the OBAMA First Family.

The pet should be a golden doodle. Mine is perfect. I have had many dogs. I got this one because of alergy problems which worked just wonderfully. He also thinks he is every dog and person’s best friend. His only problem is that is is drawn to water and mud. A wonderful nonfoofoo dog and the most loveable dog in the world.

I was going to recommend a scottish terrier. This is what I have and i love her. But now that I see that the Bushes have one, I do not think that would be appropriate.
