Oprah: I Am So Happy Now!

Millions of people looked on as Oprah tearfully cheered as Barack Obama won the White House -- and moments later, a still-emotional Winfrey shared her elation with "Extra."

"I am just so happy now," said Oprah. "I was saying to people 20 months ago, 'You don't want to be on the wrong side of history'... I would have lost my soul if I had not stood up for Barack Obama and it was worth everything for me to do it."

The talk show queen added, "It feels like something big and bold has happened here... Like nothing ever in our lifetimes!" Oprah regularly stumped for the Illinois senator, and reveals that she has kept in touch with Barack via email. "I don't speak to him as much as we email. I'm just hoping the email address doesn't change!"

"Extra's" AJ Calloway was among the revelers in Grant Park as history was made, and he ran into Winfrey in the strangest of places -- outside the Porta Potty!

Ironically, Oprah dishes to Calloway that her Porta Potty visit was a first! "In all these years at every event, I've said, 'No, no, no.' I'm not going to do the Porta Potty... but tonight, I said I better use it."

What is wrong with you? I have an education. A very good one actually. Is this not America? Is there not a tremendous amount of history that deserves to be heard and taught? No amount of education can help you with your hatred. Without bashing me or my opinion what do you actually stand for?

who cares about race all that matters is the one person who can hopefully turn things around for the better….really if Obama was white i still would have voted for him because he truely seems to care and beleive in what he is doing … i’m sure McCain does to but why did he spend his campaign bashing Obama and trying to dig up dirt on him…i want to hear what McCain can do for us … and then if he croaks, sorry i had to put that in, i mean what if he does then we have Palin…yeah sure..and that is not because she is a woman it is because she is someone who’s had no experience and would have been a puppet in the white house…did you really want that for another 4 years.. ?

Anna,
Here are some college courses I suggest you quickly enroll in
Native American Studies
African American Studies
Media Theory
Non-Western Studies

Your opinion reflects that of someone who is uneducated.

After your successful completion of those courses you will be able to evaluate my questions and then you can make a more valid opinion and be The Greatest like me.

it doesn’t matter if Oprah is happy or not or if she takes credit for it … All that matters is that he won and it will be amazing to see that even though we live in a time when racism shouldnt exist, it will show more and more know that we have an african american president …. Like really we are kidding ourselves if we say that everyone will be united…
i dont want to think that there are people out there thinking all the racist and ignorant thoughts but i hope i am wrong and that this country does unite to heal itself
OBAMA ALL THE WAY !!!

How is that on the clock for the devil? We are one country…that is what I’m saying. The country should be about all of us…every month about every culture because we all are AMERICANS. I voted for McCain but if this country is ever going to decide then everyone has to be on board. I don’t see an Italian American month and thats where Columbus was from! You are far from the greatest if you think that futher segregation will get us anywhere. I am trying to make the best of a situation considering I felt McCain was the better man. I’m only hoping for good.

Jakemax and Anna- Are you guys on the clock for the devil? Or are you related to Hitler? You both speak words of destruction.

You both need to talk to yourself in a mirror, because that is the only person you can strategically convince of your insane opinions. Stop posting ignorance, it’s not becoming.

Lucy, Anna, Majority rules and Susan…all of you said it so well.
I could care less about Oprah and how she feels. She has no crediability with me. If she wanted to endorse someone, do it privately and with her $$$ donate to his campaign. She knew darn well that people hang on her every word, move, etc. and she would have people following blindly.

To United…YOU said a mouthful and you are right on. I am so very sick and tired of this African American garbage. Why do they call themselves that? All of us through our ancestors came from somewhere else and we do not call OURSELVES Irish Americans, Jewish Americans, Polish Americans, etc. If you were born here, you are JUST American peridod. I heard James Earl Jones speak a few years back at a breakfast in my city. He said to be African American, YOU, NOT your ancestors, would have had to been born in Africa. If not, YOU are American. I am also tired of Black History month. Other backgrounds have a history also and have given much to this country..where is THEIR history month???? One more thing..Obama is NOT black..he is half black, half white making him BI RACIAL. If anyone watched “In Living Color” some years back with the Wyans brothers, David Allen Greier, Jim Carey, one of them which is David Allen Greier, a black man was asked something about Obama today and his remark was “he is not black, he is bi racial. Thank you to a black person for bringing that to the public’s attention!!!!!! Calling yourself African American IS segregating yourself so don’t be blaming “white America” or any other background if you feel that people or this country are discriminating against you, not treating you as equal. You are asking to be treated as something other than American. Become a “real” part of this country and be an American.

iF oBAMA WAS TRULY A PATRIOT HE WOULDN’T CALL HIMSELF AN AFRICAN AMERICAN.. what’s wrong with being an AMERICAN? do you hear people setting themselves apart by being, Swedish american, German american etc? No..And Michelle remarks about not being proud of her country are not easily forgotten

Since we are now United and we are now a “melting pot” as you put it, then can we please stop calling people African Americans and just call them Americans. And can every month be about learning ALL history and not have a Black History month? And can we not have a Black Ms USA and just a Ms USA. Honestly I feel that everyone is the same..inside and out, we all look different…EVERYONE. So if we are going to be united and be one, can we stop with all the segregation? I would like my children to learn about all cultures all year.

It amazes me at how some people of this country choose not to wrap their brain around the fact that in this country African Americans were the only race that were not considered citizen even if they were born in this country. To look at this election and not think we as a country just started representing our mission state that of being the melting pot, and that this country is a united nation. Have we reep the benefits of this country yes as we all have, however this has no bearing on the steps to a better America this election signifies. Unity Unity Unity a country united, cup always half full now runith over! I hope ever one finds their hope realized in this country were they can feel truely a part of this mighty nation. I am for the most part glad that now everyone can see that my journey as an (America African) American will be validated, and I now feel there is a chance that this counrty can heal, grow, unite and move on.

Yes the world breathe a sigh of relief that one, Oprah is happy, and two she didn’t lose her soul. Now they can make her room ready at the White House.

I could really care less is Oprah is happy. She says she would have lost her soul if she didn’t stand up for him, but she already sold her soul a long time ago. Glad they are finally proud to be part of this country after how many years of reaping its benefits? I will pray for our country and support as best I can but this election was wrong. So very very wrong just to make history. Make history with someone who deserves it.
