Is Oprah Winfrey leaving broadcast TV and syndication?

Broadcasting & Cable magazine is reporting it is true! "Oprah's" average of 8 million viewers will have to catch the daytime talk show on cable.

President of Discovery David Zaslav says Winfrey is planning to move "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to her own cable network in 2011. Oprah's production company Harpo and Discovery are working together to create The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Zaslav told B&C, "The current expectation is that after fall 2011 her show will go off of ... syndication, and she will come to OWN."

Harpo says the move is not final.

Wouln’t hurt my feelings any. Ever since she came out with her support for Obama, her ratings dropped and no longer was she queen of the daytime talk shows. That honor went to Ellen Degeneres. I love Ellen but she was getting too political there and made her view on the ban on gay marriage in California being overturned too public. She does not need to talk about that on her show. Not everyone is interested in her private life. These talk show hosts should remain neutral on such things on air and do what they want off the air.

I don’t understand why you took Dana Devon off..It’s just not the same, and I have found myself watching HA instead. I feel that you should have announced it at the very least.
