Cook on GF: She's a Nice Break from the Chaos

Singer David Cook's life has become jam-packed since he was crowned the season seven "American Idol" champ -- and luckily, he's found a gal pal that can relate to his busy schedule!

"I think she gets that this is all nuts," Cook tells People magazine of girlfriend Kimberly Caldwell, who placed seventh on the second season of the hit music show. "She's a nice break from the chaos."

Despite the fact that both Cook and Caldwell are "Idol" alums with budding careers, the singing pair have no plans to record together in the future. "No, we don't," David confirmed.

The former bartender's self-titled debut album drops Tuesday -- and Cook revealed his plans for the big day. "I'm going to celebrate by playing here at Hard Rock," said David. "So I'll be busy getting ready to play...but hopefully this is just the beginning of a very busy year for me, so I'm just ready to move on."

with all that he is doing and all the great people that surround him she just doesn’t compute. i keep hoping it is some kind of idol publicity thing. he can certainly do better than that. i’ve heard her on some interviews and she sounds like she is hard pressed to put a sentence together.

Have you ever searched “Kim Caldwell” on YouTube to see what she’s been up to for the past year?

There are some interesting videos of an overdressed KC singing in school gymnasiums with Justin Guarini, attempting a few numbers (that’s generous) at gay pride festivals, and on and on…..

Kim should give it up. No talent.

I agree, if she had talent she would already be a star and not riding on David’s coat tails. Most people don’t even know who she is, much less classify her as a “star”.?????? Wish he would find someone who truly likes him for him and not what he has become, and squeeze her way into stardom thru David. Oh well, maybe won day he will wake up. Oh and I am NOT a jealous fan, I am in my 60’s and married.

Sounds like Kim has already been here making comments about herself. HA HA. Seriously, “beautiful voice”??? If she had any talent at all, she would already be a star. Too bad Kim, your place now is sitting in the audience watching David live his dream.

Anyone who thinks Kim can’t sing needs to have their hearing checked. Kim has a beautiful voice, and is one of my favorite Idols ever. David is another of my favorite Idols, so I am delighted that they are an item. They are an adorable couple, and are both talented, good-looking, and funny. I wish them both the best of everything.

Can’t stand Kim Caldwell. What a joke that she has a “career” too. What career? Have you ever heard her sing? I’ve heard foghorns that sound better. No wonder David doesn’t want to “duet”. He knows she can’t sing. David get rid of this skank now.
