to the comment below you are right it is called freedom of speech thats why everyone is entitled to their opionion whether good bad or ugly. we all have a choice to read the postings or not.

It lets me know that our “First Amendment” right of “free speech” is alive and well……….BUT THE NAME CALLIN FOLKS HAS GOT TO STOP….even I realized after the election that the racist and bigots came out in full force so I no longer will call them out as “racist” and “bigots”……..YOU ALL DO THE SAME!!!!

1. Due to our having freedom of speech or religion for that matter, openmindedness is what is needed in order to not infringe on anyone’s rights! I never said it had anything to do with liberalism. It was a quote…my quote.

2. I could care less if Elisabeth stays or goes. My bet is that the network will keep her because she is good television. The point I was trying to make it that people can talk as much as they want as long as they don’t shout FIRE in a crowded theater. It is up to you whether you can learn anything from the exchange.

It’s about freedom of religion and freedom of speech. If you are refering to wanting Elizabeth gone from the view, is that not infringing on her own 1st Amendment rights?

I don’t watch the view, but last I checked, they are all entitled to their own opinion, and expressing that opinion. It’s up to you (the viewer) rather or not you agree or disagree with it. And what’s more, here in 2008 there are more than 200 channels to choose from on televison these days, compared to just the major networks years and years ago!? Use your remote, or better yet, get up off your lazy butt and physically change the channel.. you’ll burn more calories that way.

beaushann: if i go to church and there is a preacher yelling at the top of his lungs to get a point across i leave….the view and eliabeth…her screaming and screeching voice gets to me. she doesnt know how to debate.i also work about 60 hours a week. i watch political shows when i can no yelling o screaming. i still say elisbeth needs to go from the show!

No anonymous (What is your name?), I do not watch the View much. Alas, I must work for a living and I subcribe to banking hours. My point is that Melanie was absolutely correct in stating that you must take what you can from people but maintain your own opinion whether you agree with them or not.

I think Elizabeth is too young to understand what’s even going on in this world today. She and her husband I’m sure make very good salaries and don’t have to worry about the economy etc the way the rest of us do. I think she just repeats things she hears from other people, she doesn’t really know what’s going on. Joy knows exactly what’s happening and could bury her if she wanted to, but for the sake of the show and making our little girl run off crying she doesn’t. Elizabeth should stay home taking care of her children and not try to be something she’s not.
